No, it's clearly better than the DVD. As the review on this site mentions, it's had a new scan and the limitations of the source mean that it just isn't going to look as good as other WAC titles. That doesn't mean it doesn't look better than it used to - it does. It's also as good as its ever likely to look.

Yes, I'm eager to find out what's coming next. My biggie is Arsenic And Lace but any Bogie, Cagney, Flynn, Garbo, G Robinson, Muni, Raft or Fairbanks would be welcomed.

Now that we've gotten the Bogie & Bacall films, I hope we get Wayne & Bacall in Blood Alley soon.

Speaking of famous screen pairings, I'd like to see them release the rest of the Errol Flynn / Olivia de Havilland films: Captain Blood, The Charge of the Light Brigade, The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex, Santa Fe Trail, and They Died with Their Boots On.

I've just finished watching To Have and Have Not and it's another winner from WAC.

It may have taken a while for WAC to get up to speed on releasing Blu-rays but 2016 has been a tremendous year. The sheer quality of their releases has been mind-blowing.

I think Blade Runner (any cut) deserves a better transfer than the current one in circulation which never maxes out the potential bitrate of the format. Labels like Criterion & Arrow had been known to max out a lot of their titles despite the fact some of those don't really need that extra headroom. I wish/hope Warner would treat that movie with a little bit more quality in video rather than gimmicky toys, special editions and unnecessary cut/re-cut re-packaging merry-go-round.

Seriously? The Blu Ray has damn near perfect PQ. I have a very hard time believing it could look any better.

It could look a lot better. It has good colour and contrast but the image is soft and the (VC-1) encoding is pretty average, especially on The Final Cut.

You mean, it has revisionist color and the image is as sharp as it's going to get. Not every movie looks like a video game upon remaster.

Given the film was shot on early-80s film stock, I think it will always look a bit soft. But I have no complaints about the BD transfer. I've always thought it looks beautiful.

I saw the remastered 4K version on a huge screen at the cinema and it looked a lot like the current Blu-ray transfer.
Hands off the compression button, Music industry!
Hands off the DNR button, Blu-Ray producers!
Film is supposed to have grain!

The Blu-ray.com classic film project. I am embellishing the bios of several film legends, and adding in profiles for classic films that are missing from our database. If you see a missing film that merits inclusion, please message me, and I will get it added.

When Drew was at her hottest around then (18-22), which is saying something.

Not many folks here to excited for The Deadly Trackers. It seems to have gotten a sub par review here too, a first this year for the archive I think. Glad it was on a title that I was not looking forward to.

(1966), Dodsworth (1936), Roman Holiday (1953), Fingers (1977), Twisted Nerve (1968), Knife In The Water (1962), The Naked Spur (1953), Blood Link (1982), The Great Silence (1968), A Bronx Tale (1993), Targets (1968), The Woman in the Window (1944), Waking The Dead (2000), Secret Agent (1936), If You Meet Saratana... Man, Michael Reuben took a giant shit on "Deadly Trackers". It's a title that tempted me because of the cast (Harris, Taylor, Al Lettieri, Neville Brand, Paul Benjamin), but the consensus seems to be that it's a pretty awful film.
Top 10 Most Wanted on Blu-Ray: 1) After Hours 2) Bringing Out the Dead 3) Bob Roberts 4) O Lucky Man 5) California Split 6) The Music of Chance 7) Stardust Memories 8) Brewster McCloud 9) The Hitcher (1986) 10) Deep Cover

Yeah, I always laugh when I see "despite solid video and great audio it is a terrible blu-ray"...like really?

Yeah, the low rating is solely due to his low opinion of the film. Frankly, who cares what these reviewers think of the film? Most people on this site are fairly savvy when it comes to what we like or don't like, so if you're interested and the audio / video ratings are solid, buy it.
