Buffy and Angel are shows I loved so much back in the day and now cannot stand. It's almost heartbreaking.

I hadn't watched the DVDs since I first bought them (and remember that we got them earlier in the UK than in 'Murica) so they were just gathering dust. I still like the shows though because Whedon's style fits snarky California teens perfectly. Ancient demi gods & other assorted superheroes, not so much.

Well I definitely agree with that. I'm not saying the shows are bad, I just don't connect with them anymore. It's just so teen and 20-something focused I can't be entertained by it anymore. I dunno.

@TylerDurden389, is this real or just a good joke?

This would be monster plagiarism.

If True Lies and Bad Boys II don't come out on Blu-ray in 2015 I'm seriously at the point where I'm starting to wonder if they ever actually will. BD has been around since March of 2006. That's 9 full years, almost a decade since the format has been out and still no True Lies or Bad Boys II. BBII was on the coming soon previews at the beginning of the Sony titles back in the early days of Blu-ray but yet still zippo 9 years later. Maybe BBII skips BD altogether and hits Ultra HD Blu-ray instead...who knows. Even if either of these only got released as region free UK releases I'd import them ASAP.

Yup. The FIRST blu-ray disc I ever bought and played, back in 2007, had a "coming soon to blu-ray" trailer - featuring Bad Boys II - right as I popped the disc in. I'm trying to figure out what "coming soon" means.

The comic was released in 85' and it was a 6 issue mini-series, so obviously no one remembers it. I haven't found any articles relating to the comic books' actual storyline, but yes the look of the Navi are definitely a rip off from this comic.

I could be totally wrong here, but...

...it occurs to me that the conflict between Cameron and Fox—if indeed there is one—must have started years ago. Think about it... how many DVDs did Fox re-release and upgrade over the years? The Die Hards, Home Alone, Predator, Speed, the Alien films, etc.

Yet The Abyss was technically only released once. (Okay... four times: 2-disc, single disc WS, single disc FS, and 2-disc digipack.)

And True Lies was never re-released in any configuration. (I'm not counting multi-film compilations.)

Wish I had more to add... just a thought.

The YouTube link for Abyss is gone

Is there any way to record the full 1080p stream from the HBO Go app before it's gone in about a week?

Just buy the blu-ray! Blu-ray has been around for nine years.
I'm sure the blu-ray has not only been released, but double or triple dipped by now!
Ohhhh, wait.

Thank God! I needed this one to add to my pristine Pauly Shore blu-ray collection!! These things will be worth a lot after I pass them down to my grandchildren.

Such a f*cking shame.

I honestly can't think of a movie that was made for blu-ray more so than The Abyss.

...makes me sick.

I gotta admit it right now. I've never seen The Abyss.

In the wake of Fox dropping future releases of The Simpsons, it seems doubtful that they have any plans on releasing much of anything else on physical media, least of all catalog titles. I think it's safe to say that this rumor is about as valid as Disney releasing the OOT. Was there EVER an anamorphic version of The Abyss?
