Yes I thought there was a "Rumor" they were doing this when the first one came out. People were talking about Emma Stone and Rachel McAdams and Meryl Streep to play the Matthew type role. She'd get like 14 oscars for it.

The first was enjoyable enough. I don't see any need for a sequel though.

Haha.

I'd be down for a sequel. Why the hell not?

That would be pretty awesome. Turn the whole premise into a weird, noir slasher film.

They already had some similar aspects to it in the first film. I think they could really make an awesome film with more elements like that, but then they would lose money from girls who wanted to see naked men.

They could still be naked. They always find ways to have female nudity in horror films...they could go for gold here.

I really enjoyed Magic Mike but it does not warrant a sequel.

I'd tend to agree, but you never know. Depends on the story.

Yep!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the sequel. The first was great. Hopefully they can come up with something good here.

It's not like there haven't already been female stripper movies. Showgirls, Striptease, Zombie Strippers , etc... A male stripper movie was something fairly knew unless you consider The Full Monty, but nobody wants to ogle those guys .

Not only that, but I doubt that relationship will go anywhere, seeing as how her brother now owes her boyfriend $10,000 in drug money.

Yeah, there's no strings in that relationship.

Not one of those stripper movies are realistic. The world needs to see a realistic stripper movie.

MAGIC MIKE Sequel Titled 'Magic Mike XXL', Finds Director

Just yesterday we brought you word, via Joe Manganiello, that the Magic Mike sequel would be getting underway this fall. As of that report, there was no director or even a title attached to the follow-up film. That’s all changed as of today. A new report has Gregory Jacobs attached as director, even though it was previously speculated that Channing Tatum and producing/writing partner Reid Carolin were thinking about co-directing. Jacobs has been Steven Soderbergh’s First Assistant Director for quite some time, so with Soderbergh remaining as executive producer, it makes sense to have Jacobs at the helm. Though we’re still waiting for an official announcement, The Playlist also has word that the sequel will be titled Magic Mike XXL. Make of that title what you will. The important part is that the fan-favorite film, and surprise box office hit of 2012, is keeping the party going strong.
