Then you could basically watch them as they aired back-to-back or watch one-another.
^ This.

It goes SG-1 New Order (both parts) then Atlantis pilot (both parts). After that, alternate with each episode (or each disc, that works too).

The Stargate Atlantis blu-ray box set is only $38.99 on Amazon!

It's a gold box deal so it's only going to be this price until midnight. This is about the cheapest the show is ever likely to be on blu-ray.

I'm a sci-fi nut but never got into Stargate too much. Just ordered this and the SG-1 series for $100 combined though, can't beat that price for like 16 seasons of television. Talk about a binge-watch!

Were you the one trying to get me into the show a while back? I tried the episodes recommended and did think they were at least okay. That was a motivator to jump on this.

SG-1 is in my top 5 TV series of all time. SGA isn't far behind. Great actors, some really good story arcs, some good humor and action. A lot to love with the Stargate franchise. I envy anyone who is doing a blind buy, you're in for a treat.

Get used to it. That's how the entire series goes. I think they give an explanation at some point, but you just have to roll with it.

You must not have watched any WWII movies where the Germans all speak English with British accents . Or any episode of The A-Team or MacGyver where the plot takes place in some unnamed South American country where EVERYBODY speaks English

Exactly, it's just a TV show - not an historically accurate representation of anything, meant to be watched in an English-speaking country.

It is possible to overthink things. Or as I like to say, "It's in the script". Don't try to rationalize, just go with it.

Just finished disc 3 or Season 1. While I don't think it's a huge upgrade from the DVD sets, it is better. One of the better written and acted sci-if shows, IMO.

The Tardis translates everything inside their heads using a universal translator that it got from a Babelfish.

When you watch a WW2 movie or a Roman movie or whatever else you assume they're speaking German or Italian but we hear English because it's a movie. That's completely different from having people who should have never heard English speaking English in the actual story, not as a phantom dub for audiences. Does that make sense? It's two completely different things.

I googled and apparently they never explained it, but a dominant fan theory is the Stargate itself has a universal translator style thing that implants language understanding in your mind when you go through it. I guess that's acceptable, but they really should have woven that into the show and it doesn't gel with the movie at all.
