No wonder I couldn't find my thread, it's been merged with this one...

I was really hoping that it was just a bad rumor, but apparently they're actually going to make Terminator 5 - with Arnie. WTF? I mean, look, I love the cat's work, but since robots don't age ...?

“I get hurt a lot. With the stuff I do, on every film there’s accidents. Something happens to me. Once they had to take me off the set on a stretcher straight to the hospital. But already I am into my next project. April, I go to New Orleans to start Terminator 5.” - Arnold Schwarzenegger

The machine doesn't age, but nobody never said that their flesh doesn't deteriorate over time.

Other possibilities are that Arnie could be playing the human that his T-800 Model 101 was based on - maybe he was a high ranking soldier and John Connor knew him. They could have also turned him into an old "Hybrid" Terminator like the one in Salvation. I think that would make more sense as to why he would appear to have aged quite a bit - less advanced tech. Just some thoughts.

I was just repeating what Arnold himself has been saying. I will post a link when I find it. Found the link

choice quote from Arnold himself

The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath. It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages"

Hey,
Sorry I couldnt find a seperate thread, but the Remastered (I think ) Terminator BD is only $5.99 at Amazon ATM, is it worth picking up even if it loses some of the DVD extras and Mono track? I'd double dip for ca. $12

http://www.amazon.com/Terminator-Blu...tor+remastered

That looks the Remastered cover but Amazon don't list it as "Remastered" or something, just "The Terminator".

That cover indicates that it is the remastered one, the old ones have different covers but thats the cover for the remastered version.

So T5 will have an old T-800. Meh, I like my ideas better and it sounds like we'll see more bad CGI of the young T-800 Arnie. The article also says T5 is "The first in a stand alone trilogy...", which is what T4 was supposed to be.

T3 was supposed to be the start of a new Trilogy as well...
