Nevermind just go with 4 panels on the ceiling as I saw your room is 18 feet deep, I see you did your homeworks, we are on a common agreement

I would forget about the 12x48 panels for now and see how it performs as you planned regardless of price.

Ahh...naw I don't understand.

Are you saying to place the first panel centred between each speaker on the ceiling...and then place another panel 12" further back and so on?

NP, you did a great assessment, I would say in this case 2 inches thick all around is plenty, sure 4 inches behind the speakers is great but it's not a must to tell you the truth. 2 inches does a super job with absorption, my dealer was pushing me to get 1 inch not kill my higs but told them the room had a lot of reverb. and they said alright you win

Even though my speakers are roughly 6.0 - 6.5' apart, which is wider than the 48" length of each panel?

Are they going to be suspended panels?

I'm not sure yet. I could mount them either way...Is there a more preferred method?

In most cases they suspend them like a couple inches from the ceiling.

Sent you a formula to calculate your first poit of reflection on the ceiling.

Wondering if 36*36 panels would not be better suited for this.

That would be an additional expense for a custom size that I can't really afford.

I'll use some eye hooks then to leave a gap between the ceiling and each panel.

Then they become cloud ceiling panels

48 *48 would probably be cheaper lol just go with that in this case so your panel would be 36 inches frm the speakers suspended aalf way between you and the speakers.

Between this and the PM's we've shared I must say publicly for all to see that you've been a great, great help Olivier. I never realized the depth of your comprehension regarding acoustic treatments.

As I said in my last PM, I will wait for the first ATS quote to come back and then submit one (maybe 2) more and decide from there.

Well technicaly speaking i have worked with my dealer for my own room treatment and in most cases you do not have to put as much coverage as should put if you cover the most problematic areas, specifically if you always sit in the same spot, you first reflection point is the most important thing to coveras wellas your bass traps.

For teh ceiling becase the ceiling is not so high you sure can put them directly to the ceiling without hanging them, would be more suitable if you had higher ceiling sorry for the confusion

Again you are welcome and I have done quite a bit of research, Your case trap are an excellent idea specially in the right end corner this seem to be a huge problem.
