Default b&w 700 series?

hey all! just wondering how many of you in here still own a 700 series speaker. they don't seem to get a lot of love even from b&w fans. why is this so? i'm looking at getting either 704/703's but it looks like there's no buzz on them in a lot of sites as well. what gives?

im looking to upgrade speakers. Im currently interested in bowers and wilkins cm9 and martin logan motion 60. Price is almost the same. In terms of build quality, which one is better?

I like the sound they both produce. I like the looks of both speakers. I can demo both at BB. I already demo b&w cm9 and ml motion 40, but not the ml motion 60.

Any thoughts???

Congrats! Are these replacing your paradigm 10s? Or going into another setup?

I will say when I heard the new S2s they sounded like a big improvement over the older CMs. The older CMs were IMO just a better looking 600 series, but the new line I could hear significant improvements of the CM S2 over the 600 S2

They are replacing the Sig2's. There were for sale used 12 miles from me so i had to try them out since nothing i want ever comes up for sale around my area.

I had planned to buy new CM10's. I would say they are both about the same, just that the CM9's have more grunt.

Yes. I love the Paradigm Signature 2's and was shocked that the CM9's sound just as good. I still wanna try the CM10's if i can find a deal on used CM10's if they ever pop up close to my area. I have tried all the Klpisch RF line and many of the Paradigm line and now wanna try out the higher end B&W line.

I'm starting to audition speakers from B+W and Paradigm. Long story short, I was moving from state to state, using a well known nation van line and the semi got stolen with all my stuff and two others who were in the shipment. I took the insurance, so that will help in rebuilding.

I "sort-of" auditioned the 683 at a local Best buy. They were missing the right side speaker. Never-the-less, I will try another Magnolia/Best buy store to listen in stereo. I was able to get an idea of the sound from the 683 in comparison to a pair of CM9's they had along side. Granted the 683 is priced at $850 each and the CM9's at $1600 each, but I must say the CM9 made the 683 sound like crap. Again, I will give the 683's another chance at another store, but I was not impressed with the 683. The sound was thin, dead and uninvolving compared the to CM9. The 683 sounded like music from 70-80's speakers and or like music before you put it through a DAC. It seemed that the 683 lacked the lushness the CM9. Seems nobody has the CM8 to listen to. That would be more in my price range.

As I previously owned old Paradigm Studio 40's(v2's), I'm going to also listen to their Monitor series 11's($800 each) and the studio 60's($1250 each). In reality, my price range should be along the lines of the B+W 600 series or the Paradigm Monitor series. I noticed Axiom and they get good reviews, but I don't like their business model of not being able to go to a store and listen. I don't want the fuss of having them shipped out to my house and not liking them, then having to ship them back. Their prices are right though.

Any thoughts on the 600 series compared to the CM8 or CM9? I would like to go to a floor standing speaker. The Paradigm 40's I had were nice in that they had a more beefy sound with that extra driver. So I'm looking for a floor standing speaker with 3 drivers or more.

No contest...CM series is in another class compared to the 600's. A tad brighter but much more detailed, I've auditioned the CM series on several occasions.
