There's only ONE thing wrong with WAC. They haven't released this gem yet.

I have to agree that it was an awful movie, but it's one where, for me, nostalgia trumps.

I remember back when it was first released. It opened at a local theater on a Wednesday. By that Friday, it had been replaced with something else.
"He sits there in his house watching the same stupid movie over and over again."
"Bad taste in films is not a criminal offense."
"Wait till you've seen it."

List of Twilight Time signed promotional titles.

List of Twilight Time Out of Print titles, with dates they went OOP

One of my favorite one-liner comments on film was in the lamented Boston Phoenix for that film:

"It's Alive. It's a dud."
"He sits there in his house watching the same stupid movie over and over again."
"Bad taste in films is not a criminal offense."
"Wait till you've seen it."

More Audrey!!!
WAIT UNTIL DARK, MILDRED PIERCE, CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF and WHO's AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOLF are definitely at the top of my Warner "realistic" list

My fantasy list would be DR. X/ MYSTERY OF THE WAX MUSEUM (restored), FREAKS, SALEM'S LOT, and GUN CRAZY.

Yea, those first 4 should ALREADY be out on the format.

The film was a bomb when originally released - and it's not like they're not releasing it. They're simply offering it as it was originally produced.
And that's totally fine with me. And in the case new 5.1 remixes are done, I like the original mono, stereo or surround track to be available.

I'd love to have this, just to finish the Body Snatchers trifecta on Blu-Ray (The Invasion can suck it ).

This is the "criminal hasn't been done yet" list LOL. I'm pretty shocked at Cat and Virginia, that they weren't capitalized on more after Taylor's death. I can't imagine how gorgeous Cat is gonna look when properly done.

That said, I most want Mildred. I can't find it at the moment, but someone had posted relatively recently (earlier this year?) that Mildred had/has been worked on. I'd have had high hopes since this is an anniversary year (70th) - and I still keep my fingers crossed every time I see a new classic film announcement.
If you have to whip out a microscope to decide if you like a Blu-ray or not, you are missing the point.

The funny thing is I've been in the mood to see all four, but I've waited for the last two years thinking they must be destined for BD.

Will we ever see a release of Big Wednesday on Blu-ray?. IMO - it's not only one of the best films of '78, it's also one of the best films of the '70s full stop. The beautiful cinematography would look stunning in HD.

If other great films from that year like - Days Of Heaven, The Deer Hunter, and Midnight Express can get decent releases from other studios, then why the hell are Warner sitting on one of their revered classics?.
Top Ten Most Wanted Blu-rays: Amphibian Man (1962) - Big Wednesday (1978) - Blow-Up (1966) - Danger: Diabolik (1968) - Martin (1978) - O Lucky Man! (1973) - Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) - The Final Programme (1973) - The Knack ...And How To Get It (1965) - Zabriskie Point (1970)
