My Amazon order came in yesterday and it really is a "killer" package. Kudos to the artists who put it all together for this release.

Has anyone seen this at any of their Best Buys this week? I have some RZ certificates and would love to try and combine that with Amazon PM/U&S coupon!

I haven't seen anybody who reported it finding it in store.

It's an 8 digit SKU, so you can order online only.

just watched the interview with Harry Dean Stanton, wow, what a downer!
he seems so bitter, still he's a great character actor IMO.

Yeah, I have seen him in many movies over the decades, but knew nothing about him as a man and his beliefs. That interview kinda shocked him. I wouldn't have imagine that he was like that. He seemed kinda rude, degrading the interviewer and telling him "Don't you get it?" as if he was some idiot.

Apparently the audio quality is very strong. I've not received my disc yet so can't comment on that

I agree, and I love mono audio and appreciate films made in that audio format. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was also a mono film despite being a musical, and the original mono track rocks, while the remixed 5.1+ mixes lack the power of the mono mix. So I'm glad Alex Cox insisted no fake/remixed stereo+ track be included on the Criterion release, since the 5.1 tracks on the AnchorBay and Universal releases were nothing to write home about.

I owned AB's DVD since 2001 and i sold it at Hastings once i got the blu-ray! i always loved this movie for years since i was 7 when i rented it and one of the coolest sci-fi films i've seen.

Criterion has done a slight improvement on AB's release and did quality picture to please videophiles like myself and good audio to please audiophiles too, extras were great as well.
