I purchased a Sony BDP-S590 for Blu-ray playback instead of a PS3 and I'm glad I did. I saved $200 on my initial purchase (money that went into Blu-rays), and I have a more capable DLNA device that has been quiet and reliable since I purchased it.
Since I play virtually all video games I want to on a PC, I don't have much need for a console anyway, and the Sony BDP-S590 can do pretty much whatever the PS3 could do media-wise (and more). |

I think it is a case of hoarses for coarses sort of thing. If i had the cash i would have the OPPO in a flash........but really just for build quality etc. In the mean time my Multi Region BDT220 does the same job. If you are a gamer it really (at this point in time) does not come any better than the PS3......that goes for PQ etc also.
