Canada List of ALL Canadian Exclusive Blu-rays

Hello everybody! Now that Canada has its own sub-forum under Region A, I thought I would post this thorough list (likely not completed however). This is meant to inform, and to confirm what is actually on the discs up here. I encourage those who see I'm missing anything to please contribute & I will update the 1st post to accommodate any changes.

All in parentheses have been confirmed unless stating otherwise. All discs below have no extras unless noted. All Alliance are Region A locked. The ‘Coming Soon’ & ‘Exclusive to Canada’ sections are sections devoted to discs that are only available in Canada at the moment(with notations below, listing locked discs in other regions). The section ‘Canadian Discs Worth Acquiring/Holding On To’ lists discs with extras or other different content from other Region A releases.

fair enough, think most of us take it for granted that we get pretty much every release (with a few exceptions of course) the old format was a one-stop shop, read etc for us. now we have to go to *GASP* 2 diff sections! haha

Really? I was going to pick this up, but I think I'll wait or defer entirely! Are there any reviews of this flick?

I would have to agree. I blind bought it thinking it was a great movie, but boy was that thing a turd! I can't think of much about it that was good.

Passchendaele unfortunately could have been a great movie but got mired down with a fictional love interest that over shadowed the real historical events. Just as with the Battle of Vimy Ridge , when the British and French Armies could not take the objective , the small four division Canadian Corps was ordered to do it , and did at a loss of 16,000 men. Although I wouldn't like a movie to be too much of a documentary , this one didn't focus enough on what they were up against , and accomplished. The battle sequences were top notch , but not enough of them. I salute Paul Gross for trying even though he failed here. Most people (even many Canadians) know little of Canada's many great accomplishments in World War One , so Paul at least brought some attention to the facts.
The German Army feared them the most , and deservedly so.

Ok here is a real newb question: Will Canadian blu-ray disks play on typical blu-ray players sold retail in the US? I've been looking for an answer to this on my own but apparently my Google-fu is weak...

It has the look and feel of a crappy movie you would find on CBC on a Sunday morning. Just terribly made, acted and plotted.

Big time let down. I think Paul Gross may have an ego issue as well.

No worries, I should have watched it before buying it. I broke the cardinal rule.

It sucks that there is no U.S. release date for Killshot and Fanboys (Weinstein). Those are two titles I would buy on release day.

Great post though Rhylliam, thanks.

FYI- You say this is exclusive well alot of these are available in other countries

DOA (Alliance, 1080p, 2.35:1, no subs) Link
Hostage Link
The Pianist (TVA, 1.78:1, no extras) Link
Running Scared (Alliance, 1080i, 1.78:1 i Link

Those are just a couple that stood out. I believe the Illusionist is available elsewhere as well

Yeah I'll be doing a more extensive worldwide update soon enough. At the moment these are just exclusives compared to the US/Region A zones.
