I retired my BD35 a couple of years ago. Never encountered that issue. Have you tried the player on another display? It almost sounds like a HDMI handshake issue. Can you replicate the issue quickly by fast forwarding to a layer change point? Or does it need to heat up for a while?

With basic BD players under $100 it might just be time to retire it.

Yea I tried on another display, I changed the cable. It does it with all blu's I've tried. DVD's play fine. Only happens after layer change. And it doesn't matter if heated up or cold start. I saddley think that you are right. It may be time for a new player... Maybe I will use just for DVD playback until it goes up completely. That will save wear and tear on the new Bluray player. Thanks for your reply.
