If it has people talking about the movie then it worked.

Generating a little buzz is pretty much the only thing they can hope for this far out.

For some people, anything flashier or faster moving than 2001 is a cheap CGI crapfest designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator. For others, anything that comes off as even remotely thoughful or introspective is pretentious arthouse crap.

Me? I like cheap CGI crapfests and prestious arthouse crap so I'm covered either way.

I completely agree. Most of us here, myself included, complain that Hollywood no longer makes original movies not based on anything but the general audience is usually dismissive of anything that doesn't follow the usual formula.
I quite like the teaser. Most trailers these days give too much info and it's quite nice to simply get a taste of the tone rather than half the movie (Prometheus is most guilty of this.). Granted, a little more footage couldn't have hurt but I guess the final visuals aren't ready yet.
It actually reminds of Alien's teaser.

This movie has an amazing cast, and yet only Matthew's name is on the poster? That is not very Nolan-like.

Maybe they're going to do a series of posters each with a different name.

They certainly have enough time

Pretty sure that poster is fake. Logo is wrong and the entire thing looks like some cliched poster for a museum IMAX feature.

The lack of CGI monsters is what I was getting at.

This movie is either going to be amazing...or absolute garbage. I really really hope it's the former.

Completely agree! I`m a HUUUUUGE fan of Nolan and basically everything he`s done up until now....but this trailer/teaser gave me nothing! I love long story driven movies....Huge fan of characters and twists....but this story seems boring....For the first time in my life, a Nolan project doesn`t interest me AT ALL. I`m gonna see it anyway......Hope it`s up to his "standard" quality films

I feel the same way. This film is going to be either epic or fail.

Watching the trailer kinda reminds me of the film Contact. I guess because of Matthew McConaughey. Contact 2 = Interstellar

It's just the teaser, there isn't going to be much shown in the way of plot. Also, he's keeping a tight lid on story details, so not much is known regardless.
