well it will take more than "imdb said so" to change my mind, ive seen the movie multiple times.
if someone would like to actually present a legitimate argument/reason why they think it is a horror movie and not just a suspense/thriller im all ears and would take it into consideration. i mean if people were debating whether or not Silence of the Lambs was horror in the other thread WUD is a real stretch.

I've had it on DVD, but never got around to watching it. I'll rectify that this afternoon. Whether it would count will largely depend on how one defines a horror film and how one defines a thriller. To me a film that intends to inspire a reaction of fear or dread likely fits within the horror category. I didn't vote in the other thread, but I'd probably fit in the camp that would consider movies like Silence of the Lambs and Se7en to be part-horror at least.

i would be part of that camp too, but Wait Until Dark is nowhere near that level. its more along the lines of a Hitchcock film like Rear Window or Dial M.

Its funny because I dont consider Se7en a horror film. However Saw reminds me of Se7en, and we all know Saw is definitely a horror film. Got Em!!

2/3rd of this film is treading the line between thriller and psychological horror, but once Susy
[Show spoiler]realizes the con and realizes her apartment has been ransacked and is completely unfamiliar to her
and then especially when Roat
[Show spoiler]kills his two partners, chains the door to the apartment shut and starts pouring gas all over the apartment,
this is a horror film. There was clear intent to scare both the protagonist and the viewer. We even get the
[Show spoiler]"one last scare" bit after Roat was stabbed and Susy was walking back towards the kitchen only to have Roat chase her behind the fridge before ultimately succumbing to his wound.
There's also the part at the beginning with
[Show spoiler]Talman looking in the closet without realizing that there was a dead body hanging on the back of the door.
