Well, anamorphic video alone would be a plus...right? So long as the blu doesn't somehow look WORSE than the DVD. Is that possible?

Is that right? Are there any arguments for the DVDs as opposed to the blus? 'Cause if they are, in fact, better. $8 is a nice price.

The only real argument I can make for the dvds is bonus features on the Uprising and Forsaken that aren't on the BD. I only got the first 2 BD release, which does have a featurette for the first film which isn't on any of the other releases, and kept the dvds of 3-5 after checking reviews.
The other argument could be that 3-5 aren't really worth the upgrade as the quality is marginally better at best, so if you already own them and the dvds resell for pennies, why bother? You could save a little shelf space, but might be stuck with more discs you can't give away.

In any case, get at least the first 2 films on BD since the dvds aren't anamorphic. No matter how bad the reviews are for any of their various releases, they all trump the US dvds.

Upgrade and save is R.I.P. it seems, which sucks. I managed to get 20 cheap discs when they had em from my dvdprofiler notes. U&S wouldn't work on the $7.99 bin anyway.

There isn't a thread for the 5 film collection.

Mine just dispatched, looking forward to seeing the first two again, which IMO are well worth the $11.99. I've never seen 3-5 so that's a bonus.

Reading back on this thread, the 5 film collection isn't new? So is this just a repackaging? Should I expect an improvement on what earlier posts suggest aren't great quality discs?

It's the new Lionsgate deal. They toke over the Miramax catalog line of discs from Echo Bridge, and they will all the same as the old EB releases, good or bad (usually bad). Would love to see the first film remastered, but it won't happen with this one.

Just saw and bought this from Best Buy for $7.99
Opened it up and am completely dumbfounded...
Disk 1- P1, P3, P4, P5
Disk 2- P2
WTF????
Why were they splitvthis way?
isn' t P1 available separately as well as P2?
I also think i've seen P3,4,5 as one set as well, correct?

To answer your questions:

1. This is simply a re-release of the Echo Bridge set. Absolutely nothing has been changed.

2. The only "Prophecy" films that were ever released by themselves on Blu were parts 1 and 3. Part 2 was available in 2 variations: This set and a double feature Blu with part 1. There was also a double feature disc that just had parts 4 and 5.

3. The reason why this set is so wonky is that there was originally a 4-film set with parts 1, 3, 4, and 5 on one disc. The reason for this is that there wasn't an HD master created for part 2 at the time, so they just released what they had. This also reflects in the Complete DVD set that was released around the same time as the 4-film Blu. Part 2 in the DVD set was non-anamorphic widescreen, while all the other films, in fact, were anamorphic. Eventually, Echo Bridge was able to acquire an HD master for part 2, so they just pressed a disc and packaged it with the pre-existing 4-film set to form the Complete Collection.

I hope this has been informative.

I thought the audio glitch was on the standalone of part 3 and not the multifeature set.

Just bought The Prophecy: The Complete Collection Blu-ray, which includes all 5 films for $7.99 at Wal-Mart!

Question: Is The Prophecy 3 Blu-ray defective only on the “double feature” or is it also on the 5-film set?
Thanks in advance.

According to a User up above, it is only the Double Feature one. The 4 and 5 Film Sets are fine.
