I will definitely be picking this up. This film completely snuck by me, saw it for the first time a year or so ago and loved it.
Now the real pain begins, Danny-boy.

Never seen it. Will probably blind buy it. Worth it?
Also looking forward to The Hustler. Already got Platoon from Hong Kong, interested to see if Fox uses the same transfer. Yeah it's a very solid film. I bought it on DVD maybe 7-8 years ago at Target when it was on sale for maybe $5. I would say it's Colin Farrell's best acting by far.

This was definitely Farrell's first big film in the U.S. Of course it was Hart's War, Minority Report, and S.W.A.T. that really put him on the map.

This is an entertaining, well-crafted movie. It'll obviously be remembered most for Colin Farrell's breakthrough role. I own the DVD. Wouldn't mind adding the BD to my collection in the future.
The transfer might disappoint a lot of people, though. VERY rough, shot-on-the-fly, documentary-esque cinematography here.

the blu-ray.com Tigerland Blu-ray Review is up-
the review calls batman forever "a massive failure"- obviously not true, as it was a box office success although it is a not so great film- his careless comments stopped me from continuing the read- blu-ray.com needs to do a better job of preparing their staff- this place is a shade away from being a blog site instead of a respected blu-ray info source- |

Jeez I couldn't watch it. The transfer is low def and EE'd beyond belief. And the film itself. What a dick the main character is.

This is one of the worst Blu transfers I've ever seen. I know it's 16mm but that ain't the problem - the DNR and edge enhancement are ridiculous, the text at the beginning of the film shows this, and it doesn't get much better. I think this could be a contender for the DVD being better. Can anyone compare?
