Here's a solid overview of the pre-Avengers Phase One films and what nuggets they drop that you need to know when watching The Avengers:

There's also a full phase one edit that's organized chronologically with the shorts included (minus the credits of films, so no Hulk origin recap). I wish it was higher quality (though it would be even more massive then) but it's easier than popping all of those discs in and out, even though I own the shiny Phase One set. When I... obtained... the file, Avengers and Item 47 were not a part of it, not sure if they were added in subsequent edits, but you were asking about the road to the avengers anyway.
Now running in 3D with the LG Cinema 3D (nominally showing 3D in 1080i per eye) 47LW6500 (up-or-down-or-side-graded from a 50" Sammy 3D Plasma) and a Benq W1070 and a 100" screen, and controlling it with a Harmony 880.

I have a friend who purchased this set and he was upset that the Phase Two trailer wasn't present on the bonus disc. I get the impression that he's supposed to access it on a website instead of it actually being included on the bonus DVD; can someone confirm this for me so I can tell him how to access it?

Also, I saw a reference to it, but he was also disappointed by the lack of Iron Man 2's bonus Blu-Ray, yet he claimed that all the extras were on the Iron Man Blu-Ray -- as in, he believed the contents of two discs were compressed to one somehow. Given the content of Disc 2 was a feature-length doc in HD, I'm skeptical. Is that accurate, or is he missing half the features for that as well?

I'll probably lose my S.H.I.E.L.D. security clearance, but here goes...

[Show spoiler]Line up the lenticular decoder over the "Item 47: Recovered /Battle of New York" sheet found in the SHIELD folder.

Also, he'll need the unique code found on the black S.H.I.E.L.D card included in the set.

This set is simply a repackaging of the original retail Blu-rays' feature discs. No, they do not include the other discs and no, they did not re-author the single discs with the second discs' content.

Just an fyi for those of you who bought this set...be sure to double-check your Iron Man 2 disc. I was just looking at mine today and it was the dvd and not the BD in the slipcase.

I had checked it originally when the set first came but I overlooked it for one main reason...it says disc 3 on it. Since it was the third movie in the series, I didn't think anything of it and just assumed that was what it meant. Nope...it states disc 3 because the original IM2 three disc set came with the dvd version as the third disc since the first disc was the BD and the second was the BD extras disc. I bought a cheap used copy of IM2 the other day so I would have the extras disc and was looking to put it in my set. This caused me to look at this disc more carefully this time around and that was when I caught the mistake. It is likely someone just pulled the wrong disc when they were putting the movies in the set's special envelopes since they did not strike new discs for this set.

I have contacted Amazon and they are going to take care of it but just wanted everyone to double -check their copies if they just originally glanced at theirs like I did.

Looks like it.

People have suggested that it would be nice if they updated the content from time to time as the movies progress in the phases of production. I AGREE!

If you have a nice place to display it, it is well worth it.

If you want it and can afford it get it, if your finances are tight right now wait for a clearance sale price.
