I've waited long enough in hope of a re-release of the set, so I just bought the individual seasons from Disney Movie Club. They currently have a 50% off tv shows promotion for VIP accounts + free shipping. Total came to $134.88 which seems like the best deal I am going to get anytime soon for these seasons.

All arrived in beautiful condition, and only season 3 didn't have a slip cover.

Default Lost in Upscaled 4K

I am thinking of upgrading my home theatre to buy a 4K television, 4K player and a new receiver capable of delivering 4K content and also Dolby Atmos soundtracks.

A lot of these 4K TV's have an upscaling facility to upscale 1080p bluray to 4K content. Obviously it wont be true 4K, but I was wondering if anyone already has the 4K setup and has already watched some of the Lost blu-rays?

How does Lost look in upscaled 4K?
How does Lost sound in upscaled Atmos sound

Thanks for sharing that, I've never seen that write-up before. Such a great read! I found this paragraph particularly interesting:

"As I described before, there was definitely a sort of "operational theory" for what the island would be -- it was liked by some and loathed by others -- and since Damon and Carlton chose not to say it out loud in the series finale, I won't presume to do it for them. Suffice it to say there was a concrete reason that we openly discussed on several occasions about why the island had an exotic source of power in its core that was able to wreak such miracles as time travel, the motion of the island, and somehow connect with selected people on a psychic level."
"I hope you're happy now, Jacob."

Default Has the Lost Pilot pt 1 and pt 2 ever been released as a 2 hour episode?

The Pilot Part 1 and The Pilot Part 2 obviously originally aired as two separate episodes over two weeks.

As far as I know all versions of the DVDs and Blu-ray releases have these as separate episodes. Does anyone know if these episodes have ever been aired or released as a single episode, that is both part 1 and 2 edited into a single episode?

I don't believe so. I'm pretty sure that was how it was even when the show premiered.

The season three finale originally aired as one episode and not the two re-edited for syndication episodes though. Always wished the Blu-ray had a option to view it as it was originally aired.

Yeah, me too. If it aired as a single episode, it is a single episode.

Season 3 had a slipbox that was very rigid, like a hardcover book. The discs went into the box which covered all 4 sides. After the initial run, it disappeared so don't feel jipped. There was never a slipcover like the other 5 seasons.

There was actually a second release of Season 3 with a slipcover, but I think it's pretty rare. It's a thin case like Season 5 and 6, but it comes with a slip. I bought it, not sure the details of its release though, I've never seen it elsewhere.

Can you take a picture of it, so it can be added to the master slipcover thread or just post the pic in here and ask that it be listed?

That sounds like an INSANE deal if it's in good condition.

Debating? That's an amazing deal. I wish I could get it for that price. Really wish I had picked up the set before it went OOP.
