Well, 7/12 and 7/19 have passed and the once again we're disappointed -- I guess most of us are shocked that 6 items didn't come out unannounced on the same day.

Anyway some odd stuff on DMC website nobody is sure exactly what to make of. Nobody is sure if it's just some odd phrasing or if these are clues to something much bigger. I guess I'm less worried about the second than the first post, but it's awfully short notice if it really does means it's being vaulted rather than maybe re-release in different form

I just happened to notice The Black Cauldron is available On Demand in 1080p, on Directv. Has anyone seen this yet? I've never purchased movies via On Demand, since I have BD rental via Netflix, but I'm thinking about seeing this.

I bought The Black Cauldron digitally in 1080 when it was on sale through DMA. Looks amazing in HD.

I stopped allowing myself to believe in this constant crap relating to these final titles two years ago... Honestly believe completely that these titles won't make it to blu.

That's incredibly odd... It's been quite some time since a title has been vaulted, perhaps they're just going out of production and the new wave of releases - the Signatures and the DMC Exclusives - will become either the final physical copy versions of these films or will, at the very least, be made available indefinitely.

Thanks for the info. I might just have to go check it out.
I really hope this means a BD announcement is happening soon.

My guess at the moment anyways is that they're vaulting the titles for the moment so that when they do come out as Signature Editions, they'll have been out of print for a while.

The Black Cauldron depresses me to no end...not the movie, but what Jeffrey Katzenberg did to it. I haven't watched it in years.

I'm sure it has, I've only just recently noticed it.

Which is basically the entire idea of the whole Vault system thing anyway.

I really hope they do away with the Vault with this Signature line. It's no longer a thing in the UK or Australia, and really serves no point now that the market has been so flooded with multiple versions of these films released across multiple formats.
