Getting movies early to review

Does anyone know how you can get movies early, before they hit the shelves, to review? I know some on Facebook do this.

Basically how you do it is, to watch new releases in the theaters, and start a blog. Do a good job, build an audience. Eventually if you get enough hits, the studios will contact you, and ask you to screen movies and review them. There really isnt a shortcut, unless you know someone high up in the studio

Because let's face it, your question seems to emphasize "get movies early" more than it does "to review." Sounds like you just feel the need to get in before everyone else.

Most of the time it involves doing a lot of work on your own with reviewing new releases and offering your reviews in some form of official social media or website format. You'll start off by getting a boatload of garbage straight-to-DVD type titles AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REVIEW THEM ALL!!! Everything that gets sent to you HAS TO BE HANDLED PROFESSIONALLY! The first sign that you don't want to deal with 3rd tier content is the only sign they need to keep the actual blockbuster content from ending up in the mail with your address on the envelope/box.

As glamourous as you may think getting review copies early may be, it's a lot of work because for every 1 good film you get that you actually want to keep in your collection, you'll get 10 to 15 absolute garbage releases that you'll want to throw in the garbage BUT CAN'T! If at any point the studio asks you for a particular piece of content back and you can't provide it to them, you are in serious trouble and can be fined. So, you need to have a lot of storage space.

Pretty much that. I heard you can't sell them either. Think it says on the disc itself not for sale.

I wanted to do this as well because I would love to review films for others however due to having to keep the shitty films sucks.

So to get a free copy of The Hobbit you would have to watch 10-15 Asylum movies and write reviews for them?
