Amazon has announced today that the Disney Channel movie 16 Wishes would be coming out on Blu-ray Nov 16th. I really enjoyed this movie and can't wait to own it on Blu-ray.

Yeah the only thing I hate is that this isn't a sign of anything since this movie wasn't considered a Disney Channel original movie and is being released by another company same as Harriet the Spy but that's not on Blu-ray. Really hope after Camp Rock 2 the rest of the DCOM get a Blu release.

Alice Upside Down and that soccer movie with Emily Osment was also released by another company (Anchor Bay). They all star Disney Channel "stars", but Disney does not seem to be involved in any production at all, apart from airing them at Disney Channel from time to time.

it's bad enough Disney doesn't release season sets for their shows, and personally I don't see why TV shows and Disney things aren't getting Blu-ray releases when they're actually broadcast in HD. if anything they could just do them through amazon's MOD service where they're made for each specific order like how the Nickelodeon shows from the 90s are (Rugrats, Doug, Hey Arnold, etc).

maybe not amazon, just using that as an example, but they could do it themselves. WB did that for the complete series of The Eleventh Hour through wbshop.com.

Yeah that would be a good idea but I mean Disney should be smart enough by now to know that anything they sell on DVD and Blu-ray will make them back a profit I bet based on name alone and with how popular there movies and TV shows are I don't understand why they don't.

I'm watching this on Disney Channel now and it's not terrible. I'm considering purchasing it.
