For me, number one goes to The Matrix movies, 5 times:
VHS original DVD Remastered DVD special edition set w/Neo bust HD DVD blu ray Ultimate set Next up is probably the Alien films, 3 times: DVD original set DVD super 9 disc set blu ray set And then there's nearly my entire old DVD collection sold off piecemeal as I upgraded to either HD DVD or blu ray. I still have my HD DVDs and I generally don't change them to blu. The Matrix was the exception because the set had the Animatrix in HD. |

Bat-Mite: "Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but is certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots then the tortured avenger, crying out for mommy and daddy."

I am going to just list movies that I own on more than 2 formats.
- Fantastic Four (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - Ghost Rider (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - Terminator 2 Judgment Day (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - Ultraviolet (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - Underworld (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) - Underworld Evolution (Blu-ray/DVD/PSP UMD) I notice that no one else mentions the PSP UMD as a movie format. ![]() I still collect UMD's from time to time.

The Star Wars Trilogy;
VHS; Unaltered, Special edition DVD; SE Boxset, Individuals w/ unaltered editions Blu; SE That's five times. And I can see two more coming; 3D and 4K. I have three copies of Avatar. First release, extended edition and 3D. I've bought The Phantom Menace and Starship Troopers on VHS, DVD and Blu as well. I never owned any of the rarer formats.

There aren't very many I had on VHS/DVD/Blu-ray, but these are them. Yet there's tons I've owned on both DVD/Blu-ray, so I'll just mention the ones that I owned on all three.
1) Star Wars I, IV, V, VI. 2) Dawn of the Dead 3) Day of the Dead 4) Halloween 5) T2. If we count multiple editions for each, that's a different story. 1) Night of the Living Dead (6)- VHS, Dimension DVD, a crappy DVD, 30th Anniversary DVD, Colorized DVD, Elite DVD. 2) Dawn of the Dead (5)- VHS, Anchor Bay Theatrical Cut DVD, Ultimate Edition DVD, Anchor Bay Theatrical Cut Blu-ray, Arrow Video Blu-ray set. 3) Day of the Dead (5)- VHS, Original Anchor Bay DVD, Divimax DVD, Anchor Bay Blu-ray, Arrow Video Blu-ray. 4) Star Wars Original Trilogy (4)- VHS Special Edition Trilogy, Star Wars DVD trilogy, Limited Edition DVD trilogy, and Blu-rays. Then a bunch I've had three copies of over the years, I won't list the editions, but have owned Halloween, T2, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St., and probably a few more all at least three times, not necessarily on three formats though. |

Let's see, Blade Runner with a VHS recording, then a bought VHS , then Criterion CLV laserdisc, then Criterion CAV laserdisc, then Directors Cut laserdisc, then DVD, then HD DVD and finally the first edition of the bluray. That's 8 total but I'm going to eventually get the digibook and a forgein steelbook. The original Star Wars trilogy I had 3 different versions of on VHS, then I had the laserdiscs with 4 different editions and box sets. Then on DVD twice and now blu. So that's 10. And I would buy those again in 3D.

I haven't been collecting that long (only a few months to be exact when I started collecting blu-rays)...
but here goes... Inception (DVD, Standard Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray Steelbook) Batman Begins (DVD, Standard Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray Steelbook) The Dark Knight (DVD, Standard Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray Steelbook) The Departed (Single Disc DVD, Two Disc DVD, Standard Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray Steelbook) I guess if you add the VHS I had as a kid I could add Toy Story (I've had the first two on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray).. Indiana Jones (had the first 3 on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray), and Star Wars (had the original trilogy on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray).... |
