For the movies themselves, I don't need the special edition BD because I'm quite happy with Harmy's Despecialized Editions and hopefully Disney will finally fulfill our wish. I'm only tempted to buy the current BD for the special special features, but for that the box set would have to be at a big discount.
All right, look if you absolutely have to tell her the truth, at least wait until the timing's right. And that's what deathbeds are for.

Why? Most of the Disney animated films look great on BD. Some were even restored and remastered.

The original Star Wars trilogy. I want the unaltered editions.
It's on random.

If you are refering to the '82 version, get the UK release - all the extras are on it, and it is region free.

The first three Die Hards I am reluctant to buy.

This is my second collection so I am more picky about what I get. Money is tight so I have to buy movies with great value, rewatchable and of course PQ/AQ.

And keep the HD DVD for the superior transfer.

Don't know how it would compare to the HD DVD, but the UK transfer is much less scrubbed than the US release, too.

And I would add tow more titles to the "waiting-for-a-better-release" list:

• EXCALIBUR
• Criterion's CHILDREN OF PARADISE

The Thing ('82) uses the same transfer worldwide for the BD release.

I can't find the screencaps comparison, but if memory serves me, I'd say you are wrong.

Then again, I could be wrong myself.

Flight of the Phoenix and Castaway. A remaster of both of them would be good.

From reading the Blu reviews available, seems like my DVD copy will suffice.

Predator - I'd buy it in a second if a GOOD transfer was finally released.

Except that's incorrect. The US version is more DNR'd than the UK.
