(Warning - the following contains potentially HUGE SPOILERS for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the extended DC Cinematic Universe beyond it. As Taylor Swift so sagely advised: "Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya"...)

There aren't too many movies on the cinematic horizon more fundamentally exciting in their very conception than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After all, not only is it set to be a movie all about Batman and Superman punching one another, but it's also (as the follow up to Man of Steel) likely to prove to be the moment that the DC Cinematic Universe truly comes into being.

Which is, of course, why what happens in it already matters so darned much to all of us - and why rumors about the movie are already flying as freely as a Lynyrd Skynyrd song about unchangeable birds.

One of the most intriguing theories currently doing the rounds, of course, is the one which suggests that the Joker we're set to see in Suicide Squad (and, odds are, in Batman v Superman) isn't quite who he seems.

I never really considered the possibility that the original is still out there. That would be awesome!

That'd be great but I thought he was gonna work on two more Mad Max movies?

Don't worry he's going combine both sequels into one movie called Mad Man of Steel: The Wasteland, only instead of playing Mad Max, Tom Hardy will be playing Lobo.

ha ha don't joke! I want my Mad Max Fury Road sequel, I will weep if George doesn't tackle that next. I wish all the best for Man of Steel 2 but I really don't want George directing it!

If anything the Mad Max sequel will come first, we are still years away from a proper MoS sequel.

fanbois really need to give it a rest with the the mental gymnastics trying to say Leto isn't really the joker. He is, deal with it.

Do they do this for any other character? they cooked up several crazy theories about The Joker on Gotham too because they didn't like what the show did.

We need to come up with theories as to why the Pat Hingle version of Commissioner Gordon was such a non-existent one-dimensional character who was barely capable of issuing parking tickets in the Burton/Schumacher movies next.

He was under the control of Jarvis Tetch and Hugo Strange who would have been revealed as the true criminal masterminds of Gotham in a later installment.

Can't see there being
[Show spoiler] two Jokers in the DC Cinematic Universe, even if one of them is dead. It would probably be too confusing for the general audience.

The wonderful thing about a good screenwriter is that one can make two Jokers not confusing to the general, non-geeky audiences.

"IT'S THE JOKER!"

"What about the other guy?"

"HE'S THE JOKER TOO!"

"We've got to stop the Joker!"

"WHICH JOKER?"

"The new Joker,"

"WHICH ONE'S THE NEW JOKER?"

"The one on the left,"

"MY LEFT OR YOUR LEFT?"

Yeah, I don't see how that couldn't be confusing....

(Even if one's dead, how is anyone supposed to explain to the audience the alive one is a new Joker and not the original Joker without confusing them?)

Stick to writing in movie forums. Don't try writing screenplays.
