So sad to hear. I think the news hurts more because he was just recently in rehab, wasn't he? I guess I was hoping he was getting better, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Wow,shocking news, really sad,I watched The Master recently and really enjoyed it and always loved PSH performances.
Film=Priority,Packaging=Not really bothered.

I spent a lot of money on booze, bird's and fast cars.
The rest I just squandered...............George Best.

Yeah, he went to rehab. Drugs are no joke. That's why these pop stars who try to make them look cool piss me off. My dad died of an overdose too.

Apparently he was found in his bathroom with the hypodermic needle still in his arm and some heroin nearby

the demons of drug abuse are many. This could have been me 15 years ago when I was into cocaine. Luckily I was young and relatively healthy enough that I never went quite too far but it was total luck of the draw for me. This is such sad news. One of the greatest actors of our time gone far, far too soon.

I am sorry for you loss. I completely agree about the aspect of the people that try to make them look cool.

I hate to see anyone with their life completely wasted to drugs.

The problem is that often the greatest actors have mental problems and are given the worst outlet...which is the pot of money to go with it.

I feel like I have been punched in the stomach over a complete and utter stranger.

He had me from Scent of a Woman and even in When A Man Loves a Woman. A small part, but you could never look away from him. I recently watched the Master and I just found myself floored again. Punch Drunk Love, Hard Eight...hell even Doubt was on tv the other day and I just had to watch.

When I saw Catching Fire I was shocked at his weight gain. Not because he was fat, but because he looked sick. I knew in my heart that there was something not right. Others saw it as exposure to a new audience, I looked at it as a performance that was so obviously "phoned in".

A horrible waste.

Watch him in Almost Famous. He had the flu the entire time and was still awesome!

I gotta admit; I can't believe he was only 46.
Looked waaaay older. Look at my avatar. I'm 40 there and don't look like he's in my age range....
Did he look older cuz of the drugs? Body type?

.

The news made me so sad earlier. I had always loved him as an actor and he was honestly one of my favorites. I was really, really, REALLY hoping he'd stick with rehab, but alas, he didn't. Reason I liked him so much was because I could relate myself to him, as I am also a recovering addict (19 months sober). But regardless, I'll always think fondly of him. He was one hell of an actor.

Is it better than TDKR's 65mm scenes (not just IMAX)?

It's unbelievably good, I haven't watched my copy of TDKR in a long time, but I definitely think this transfer is one of the best of the Blu-ray format.
