I'm you know that theatrical framing for a film in this ratio is not set right...
You know that you could see it in 10 cinemas in 10 days and get different framing?
I agree with original audio, but this is not a clear cut right and wrong issue

I was really hoping this would be released this year especially since MGM has remastered some catalog titles the last couple of years. Maybe we'll get an announcement for something released closer to Halloween?

I wonder if Criterion will take another shot at it. Apparently they had the chance to license it again and they passed. But maybe they'll give it another shot.

I doubt it. They passed because the MGM used a lot of their extras.

That's too bad. I'm one of those collectors who's been holding out for Criterion to get the license to put it on Blu. Bad decision by Criterion on passing, if that's the case.

Jeez, just the inclusion of that Criterion audio-commentary track alone would make the whole thing worth picking up again. It hasn't resurfaced at all ever since their DVD edition went OOP in early 2001.

Current disc has been as low as like $4, agreed it's not the greatest transfer but at that price it's too cheap to not pick up and enjoy this classic. Doubt we're getting a remaster soon anyway

Possible that a remastered BD and a 4K UHD disc is on the horizon from non other than MGM (unless somehow, Shout managed to get BD rights for a CE while MGM has 4K with Fox).
