One of these days it'll be released. The African landscape should look incredible, plus the film won an Oscar for sound so the AQ should be rocking ('dem lion roars)
100: An American Werewolf in London 200: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog 300: The Sandlot 400: Citizen Kane (Digibook) 500: Brazil (Criterion) 600: Iron Man 3 (3D) 700: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (3D) (Steelbook) 800: The Martian (Extended Edition)

On and ever upward.

Which adress is correct for questions ?
Warner or Paramount.

Paramount make this film, but Warner release their titles.
Make Warner only the packaging and sell for Paramount ore all trechnique aspects(video transfer, audio, extras)?

It's a Paramount title, but WB is distributing it for the time being. I could see it getting a BD release in the next year or so...

Yes I know. But what is distribuiting in this context ?

Mastering, a new HD transfer, etc.?

Who decide this, Paramount or Warner.

Parsmount is famous for old transfers and DNR.

The recent Paramount/WB titles have looked pretty stellar: Snake Eyes, Talented Mr. Ripley, Shaft (2000), Jennifer 8, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about DNR or whatever.

A lot of good titles have been announced for release this year. It would be great if this one would receive a date as well. I always enjoyed the Douglas and Kilmer team-up in this film.

TGATD is one of the best films of '96, & extremely underrated these day. Excellent epic adventure story, in the spirit of old-time Hollywood flicks like Bogart's The African Queen, etc. Val Kilmer & Michael Douglas are excellent here, and the incredible scenery of the open African plains is truly fantastic.

This definitely needs to be on Blu, if no other reason than the available R1 DVD is non-anamorphic....

A favorite of both me and my dad. We used to watch this all the time and be massively entertained. The current dvd is from an ancient 4x3 letterbox master. This one needs to be redone stat!

This movie deserves a Blu-ray treatment with a fresh new HD transfer(without DNR and EE).

Another vote for BD release of this movie. It would be a day 1 purchase for me. I have it on DVD but Blu Ray would rock. I have been to the Field Museum in Chicago and have actually seen these two lions, stuffed of course. Made the hair on my neck stand up.
My sister used to work with a guy from South Africa. She asked him about this story and he didn't even want to talk about it it had scared him so bad.

I remember seeing this in the theater and then renting the VHS the first day it was in store where I worked as a lad (and getting quite the talking to about taking home a new release in the process). I've probably seen itonce a year since then. Always a pleasure. I would love to upgrade to a blu-ray of this film.

Worth mentioning, this has never aired in true High Definition, only an upscale.

I gather it will be awhile. I have the only HD Feed, and its

Another movie that MUST be released on BD.
I just got the German DVD, which was pretty expensive and looks like crap...

I keep listening to the soundtrack of this on YT.

I want the blu-ray to come so bad. I haven't seen the title in about 5 years. I watched it on DVD when I couldn't hold out waiting for the blu..

Still waiting..

I think one of the reasons this has not been released on Blu ray is that the DVD was in the wrong aspect ratio and non anamorphic, requiring the studio to actually put some time in creating a decent Blu ray release. For an old catalog release like this, it might not be worth it.
