Default They Shoot Horses Don't They?

If you found there were just too many laughs in Requiem For A Dream then you should see this relentlessly grim film about the dance marathon craze that exploited the poor and desperate in the Depression. Fonda's performance is easily as good as in Klute (which I'd also like on blu) but Susannah York is amazing, her big scene is absolutely horrifying and deserved a truck load of awards. The ending is changed from the book and is much better for it.
All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.

Default Would anyone else like a Blu-ray of THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY?

The existing MGM DVD doesn't even look as good as the old director's cut laserdisc box set. I for one would really like to see Pollack's director cut get the Blu-ray treatment. I think that the director's cut is 7 minutes longer, but I no longer have laserdisc playback facilities.

I'll be honest OP, the title sounded like you were asking a question and then just realized what the shady men that came over to "take care of your problem horse" were REALLY doing.

I believe all video releases have the same cut. May be confusion because of the LD box set's gimmick with Pollack's signature. I would love to have this one on Blu-ray.

Disney has the rights and licensed the title to MGM. To date, Straw Dogs and the Hitchcock titles he did for Selznick are the only Disney/MGM titles to hit Blu-ray.

Does that include other ABC Pictures Corp. titles like The Touch? I'd love for a release of that one.

I feel like we're due for a Blu-ray release of this title, somewhere in the world. Hoping.
