Would have to be the director's cut though. I'd settle for nothing less.

2013 marked the 20th anniversary of this film... where the hell is the Blu-ray???

I'm starting to lose faith in this one ever being released in HD

Default Bound by Honor (1993) aka Blood In, Blood Out

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106469/reference

I wonder what's taking so long for this movie to come to Bluray. It has a big cult following and it's very good! It was directed by Taylor Hackford and some of his movies are already on BR.

Ok, maybe the acting wasn't so good, but worst movies have been already released, and we have to settle with an ancient (early 2000s) letterboxed DVD.

I can't be the only one who wants this movie on Bluray! I would gladly pay full price for a nice remastered presentation of the Director's Cut.

Wow. I had forgotten about this one. It's been a while since I saw it, but from what I remember, it was very powerful. It came out at a time when a lot of gangster/organized crime/ street gangs movies were all the rage. So, it seemed to get a little lost in that shuffle, but I don't think it could have been released at any other time. I remember this movie would be referenced or quoted among my friends almost just as often as any other popular movie of this genre in that era. It does absolutely deserve a blu-ray, because I know that in some circles, this is considered a classic.
Okay... show me.

Yes!! I knew that I wasn't alone in this one!

There's a lot of discussions about this movie over the internet. It was frowned upon by Disney (which owns Hollywood Pictures) from day one because of its gang theme.

With the LA riots still fresh, they were worried that this movie would incite even more violence, and forced Taylor Hackford to change its title from the original "Blood In Blood Out" to the more family-friendly "Bound by Honor".

Some people say that Disney would never release it again, and I'm starting to believe them

Hopefully a company like Criterion could license it and release it with a bunch of special features, but that's probably not gonna happen.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Where oh where are you on blu?

I'd absolutely LOVE to see commentary with the 3 main actors. I'd donate my own money to make that happen.

I've held off re-watching this on my DVD for years just to watch it on blu ray one day.
Am I the baddest, mo-fo, low-down, around this town?......Sho'nuff!!

Unhappy Blood in, Blood out: Bound By Honor

So I made it my mission to try and get this movie to come out on Blu-ray, i emailed Mill Creek because I read on Wikipedia they had the license. I recieved this email this morning,

Good Morning,

Thank you for your interest in Mill Creek Entertainment and its line of products. We appreciate it when customers take the time to contact us with their comments, questions and suggestions. Your suggestion for a possible Blu-ray release for the Blood In Blood Out: Bound By Honor film has been forwarded to the appropriate parties for further review and consideration. Unfortunately, we do not have the distribution rights to this particular movie. We encourage you to regularly visit our website for new release announcements and other product information. Please feel free to contact us with any additional comments or inquiries.

Sincerely,

Is there anything else we can do guys? Is anyone else interested in getting this on Blu-ray?

Everyone should go to the mill creek website and contact them with an email and ask for this on blu-ray. That is the only way I see this happening, they also have a toll free number but I've havent used it so not sure what it leads to. Let's make this happen!

Looks like I'm not the only one that has been (im)patiently waiting for this one. I recently ordered used DVDs of this and The Program just so I could watch them both, since it had been years. (Fun fact: Both were released in 1993, both by Buena Vista, both were controversial for their time...and both are still unavailable on Blu.)

As of now, the only ways to watch this film are in a crappy fullscreen DVD, or in an even crappier widescreen letterboxed DVD

I love this movie. I remember watching it on HBO years ago. I stayed up until like 3 in the morning to watch the whole thing because I couldn't turn it off. Hopefully it does come to Blu one day as I'd certainly pick it up.
