That's a huge +1 on Stephen King's Rose Red for me!!! Went from loving it when I was younger to it being a guilty pleasure now, but I still think it's great!

John Carpenter's Someone's Watching Me!

Soooo good. Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet, classic Carpenter - even has Adrienne Barbeau. First movie after Halloween. If you haven't seen it check it out.

But, I would think several Tv movies from the 80's and 90's were edited on video. So in order for these films to be brought to HD, they would have to go back and find the raw footage and reedit everything like they are doing with Star Trek TNG. Considering the limited market for most TV Movies I doubt that would happen.

That also reminds me; I'd love for "Frank Herbert's Dune" and "Children of Dune" to get Blu-Ray releases.

TNT's "A Christmas Carol" staring Patrick Stewart. Funny I just thought of emailing them to beg for it.

I know it's a "mini series" like shogun, but "North & South"..... only book 1 & 2 though. I really enjoyed this series.

there's a very cool tv movie about the Beach Boys and their rise to fame, and also one about the Carpenters.
It would be cool to see both of those come to blu-ray.

I included the Beach Boys movie in my original post.

Here's a link to its imdb page.

I'm surprised it only has a 6.6. I recently re-watched it on VH1 Classic and it still holds up.

I vaguely recall The Carpenters TV movie, but I can't remember what it was called. I definitely remember seeing the creepy/bizarre Carpenters movie directed by Todd Haynes that was made entirely with toy dolls instead of actors.

--OH, GOOD LORD! ...Ahem, I mean, they're already on Universal's TV collections. (The 70's "movies" were all TV episodes, except for the 80's-90's revivals, which were TV-movies.)
And if you want that self-indulgent art-unleashed mess, go ahead: Yes, McGoohan was a huge Columbo fan, but this is not the show you give to the director of the Prisoner finale.
(Even worse than turning Columbo into a surly hard-edged nut, McGoohan trotted in his old Prisoner trope of "Artsy-symbolic children's songs", and afterwards, director Jim Frawley thought Lt. Columbo was supposed to whistle "This Old Man" as a running quirk, and had it pop up on the soundtrack as his "theme". No, Jim, that's just...Paddy being Paddy. The hip bone connected to the leg bone, and all that.)

All soon available on Vudu.com, with similar covers that suggests a DVD boxset had appeared at some point. They're no "Evil Under the Sun", but they'll do.
