Default Resident Evil 1-6 boxset + bonus disc

I was waiting for the 6th movie to see if they would release a final boxset of all six movies with extra goodies. An uncut 15th anniversary Resident Evil for starters. As promised once by Mr. Anderson himself.

The problem is that I disliked part 3 and thought the Final Chapter was horrible. A totally different movie in style and executution compared to 4 & 5

To make things clear, all of them are sh1tty, but each of them entertaining in their own way. Except for the last part. There was nothing good about it.

Anyway. What would you do. Wait for a boxset, or get 1, 2, 4 & 5 seperately?

I have no idea. I technically have 2 on BD but never bothered with buying the live-action movies yet. Care more for the two animated, three soon, movies though.
Waiting for 4K remasters for the first three and seamless branching for differing cuts.

I just watched a video of the director saying he's working on an alternate cut of Retribution. That interview was 5 and a half years ago.
He said the same thing about the first one back in 2002.

Is he pulling our leg here?

There's a few things up in the air. There's the extended Apocalypse which has only been released in a few territories on Blu, there's the extended Retribution cut Anderson talked about (although we have deleted scenes on the Blu), and when Milla and Boris recorded their commentary for Retribution they also recorded a track for Afterlife which hasn't appeared anywhere yet including the most recent UHD release. I'd wait for a boxset to see if any of this appears exclusively for it.

I think that's a myth. I don't believe that a more violent version of Resident Evil 1 was ever shot. That was just Anderson shooting his mouth off.
Neil Harrison.

50" Panasonic plasma and 6.1 sound.

From IMDB. Can't tell how much truth is in these words ofcourse

The U.S. release had some violence censored to avoid an "NC-17" rating.

Some European cinema prints used a slightly longer edit of the security laser-massacre, but this was not included in video releases
