Russia Admiral (Russia)

I found this listing for the Russian drama Admiral.
When released into Russian and Ukrainian theaters it knocked Mamma Mia off number one in the worldwide box office.
Here are the awesome trailers.
The listing says that it is region free with english subtitles and russian DTS-HDMA 7.1 audio. Hopefully that is correct. I personally have not imported from this site but it was listed on releaselists.com.
The star of the film is Konstantin Khabensky from Nightwatch and Daywatch.

It is great to see the Russian market, Region-C, coming on board. There is a lot there of interest.

Would this play on my NTSC PS3?

Also, I live in Canada and would love to buy this blu-ray, but the link above seems to only be shipping within Russia. Are there any other places where I can order this that would ship to Canada?

I tried Amazon, but they don't seem to have it and I'm not sure where else I can go for this.

Any help would be appreciated!

I found another site which carries it and appears to ship internationally.

I hope someone is able to pick this one up. I am interested in hearing about the PQ/AQ.

Somebody should put this title in the blu-ray.com database.

Futility knows no shame! I demand The Dawn Patrol (1930), Strategic Air Command (1955), and The Great Waldo Pepper (1975)!

Pro-B, your knowledge is needed again please. I've searched all over for this, yet have not found a website that ships to the U.S.

Any suggestions?????

Hello,

Ozon were the last place to ship to the US.
http://www.ozon.ru/context/detail/id/4175035/

This being said, go ahead and contact these guys and explain to them that you wish to purchase a Blu-ray copy of Admiral. You could tell them that I (Pro-B, they should remember me from DVDTALK) have recommended their site to you -- they are based out of NY.

Just a quick cautionary note for those who are interested: It appears Channel 1 or Kino has slashed the price on this title, on the order of about 50%. I spotted a stack full of them in Moscow (all genuine) last week for less than 800 rubles each.

Just noted that Admiral is All-regions. Is this is the norm for all Russian blu-rays. Are there Reg-C only Russian titles?
Wish that blu-ray is most faithful to the theater release...

I haven't seen any, but Pro-B likely knows better.

Okay thanks. I would think this is the case. Also, no Indian blu-rays were relased only for Reg C.
Wish that blu-ray is most faithful to the theater release...

I'm still not sure why this isn't in the BD.com database yet. It looks like we've got the German and French releases, but do not yet have the original Russian release entered yet. Are we waiting for a barcode or something?

The EAN for the Адмиралъ BD issued in 2008 is 4690346000572. Russian and English subtitles. It appears there may have been a reissue in 2011, but I don't know whether that came with a new EAN.
