I know they probably wanted a younger actor to fit the script they had, but if you have an actor like Bryan Cranston saying more than once that he would have welcomed being in your movie, just change the damn script. Although I'm sure they had Eisenberg signed on long before the Cranston rumors started up. I'm hoping Eisenberg will nail it though.

That's alright, Bryan Cranston can now play Commisioner Gordon in Ben Affleck's solo Batman film.

Let's not forget, Cranston already voiced Gordon in the animated adaptation of Batman: Year One.

Plus he already looks the part.

I can actually picture that in my mind. Batman is trying to set Superman straight in the "superhero rules" department. He's going on and on and on and on about all of the things the Supes has done wrong. He then let's slip, "I could care less." As a means of offering his own contributions, to show himself useful, Superman begins to correct the misuse of the expression.

If next one of you guys claim you're Batman and the other is Superman, I'm really going to vomit.

Yep, what a badass.
Make all the sushi jokes, YouTube spoofs, and SNL sketches you want, Aquaman’s been an icon for over seventy years. The King of the Seven Seas. Reluctant ruler of Atlantis. A man who holds his own against heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman. He’s so recognizable that when officials speak about the perils of sea pollution, they’ll whip out Aquaman references to sound hip.

I've never heard/see/read of this happening.

All comics since the demise of the Bronze Age are, for the most part, a joke.

I wonder if any ideas from the Batman/Superman: Asylum screenplay will be carried over into this.

I like Cranston but my immediate reaction upon seeing him is to smile. I know he's a serious actor, but even as Mr. White I still sensed a little bit of Hal in him. I think he is very good in Drive, but I just can't picture him as Gordon regardless of him actually looking the part.

I'm sorry, but he will always be a joke to non DC fans

It's just part of the popular culture, just like Superman is the quintessential superhero, Spiderman the quintessential teenager with powers and life problems or Batman the quintessential vigilante...
