I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. The 3D was great and there were a lot of sequences designed to show off the 3D. It was a little too childish at times but then it is a kids film. Good seasonal fun and great 3d!

Just finished watching it (FINALLY). I agree with you MF2010 100%. It's definitely going to be a standard Christmas flick to watch for future Christmases to come in this mancave, lol. I really thought the 3D was really good.....not excellent or fantastic....just a really good 3D presentation with a great story. Loved it.

How do you guys compare the 3D and story to The Polar Express? I watched that movie recently and I loved it. Great story and atmosphere, and the 3D is some of the best I've seen!

Hmmmmm......that's a tough one. Both have great stories....but they are totally unique. Both have good messages....but Arthur Christmas has much more comedy than Polar Express.

As far as 3D goes: I think Polar Express has stronger 3D. Arthur Christmas has more subtle 3D scenes and is much more colorful than Polar Express. I thought the character models in AC had more dimension to it than TPE.....but that may have something to do with TPE having a lot of dark scenes.

This is all imo.

You should give Arthur Christmas a try. I think you will like it.

Polar express story is very weird and creepy with no head or tail. 3D in Polar is express is decent. The visuals are stunning! The music and atmosphere bring the Christmas spirit a lot.

Arthur Christmas has a very straightforward story that keeps you interested all the way till the end. There are no photo-real characters as in TPC or Tintin that will take you to a tripin uncanny valley. 3D is also awesome with many many flying scenes and some amazing depth in many scenes. AC is a more comic take on Christmas so you will not feel the same nostalgia as TPC.

Well in a bid to start watching Christmas movies much earlier this year, my girlfriend and I watched this last weekend, she had not seen it before. We both really enjoyed, 3D is really good, the story is fun and has good characters, and there is a lot of well implemented humour in there, particularly anything involving the elves (the wrapping elf who goes on the adventure with them is great) and animals such as the reindeer, or when they accidentally make a load of animals in Africa float.

Last night I viewed Arthur Christmas for the first time. I agree with all of the POSITIVE posts: it's a fun holiday adventure with very satisfying 3D, lovable characters and loads of excitement.

Default Bump!

I finally got around to watching this last night, and I thought it was really enjoyable. I cant quite believe its been sitting on my shelf for apparently 4 christmases already! I would have sworn to anyone that it had only been out for about a year or 2, but I was gobsmacked to find the blu was already released in 2012!

Anyway, i'm really glad I pulled it out finally gave it a chance to entertain me. The story was heartwarming and pretty funny , whilst the animation was top-notch.Coupled with the 3D, it was a real visual treat I thought. The 3D was very spacious indeed , presenting a very real sense of extreme depth at times, whilst the characters and such were always very shapely and such. While there wasnt a heap of "wow" pop-out moments or stunts, the negative parallax barrier was broken consistently, just in ways which were more subtle.

I am a sucker for Santa Claus, so this was a real treat for me, considering it featured 3 of them!

Anyway, if you are looking for a fun christmas movie romp, you couldnt do better than giving this one a go, Im really glad I finally gave this movie a chance, and if you havent seen it yet, then I highly reccomend you giving it one too. You definitely shouldnt be disappointed..

I watched 2 nights ago and I agree with everything said. My gf and I are in our early 30s and still enjoyed it quite a bit. Will be a repeat viewing for future Christmases. We especially enjoyed Grandsanta and his rants about the good old days..

Considering you generally avoid animated films from what I remember, that says a lot Levcore. Thanks for the review.

I agree, it's one of my favorite Christmas movies along with The Polar Express. Watched them both this week.
