I didn't like WWZ overall, it had some good action set pieces but the fact it's so bloodless and hardly any gore really cripples it in my opinon. And when people were laughing in the cinema at the zombies in the last 3rd instead of being creeped out or scared, then you know you've lost the audience.

For me the best Zombie movie i have seen so far is Dawn of the Dead 2009 remake.
Uh, the original surely?

Most people will tell you that the second half is better than the first. They're almost like two different films stuck together. You should really go back and watch the entire film this time.
My top 2017 films: Logan, Ghost in the Shell, Fast & Furious 8, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, War of the Planet of the Apes, IT.

No the 2009 remake is great. So good, in fact, that it must have completely skipped us all by.

I love WWZ for the tension and the atmosphere that it generates (it's very different from the book but whaddaya know, I loved that too). I get that people expect, nay DEMAND blood and guts from their zombie films/shows but if the core is sound and I'm invested in the story then I can live with the lack of grue. I guess that's why I'm not much of a horror fan because they just don't titillate me like they do for some of y'all, I prize a spooky sense of dread far higher than gouts of blood or piles of steaming entrails.

That said, I do own some horrors because they're mostly classic films, period (mostly from maestros Romero, Raimi and Carpenter), in case some jobsworth has a look at my collection and calls me out on not liking horror even though I own such-and-such.

Anyhoo, I don't think I've watched the unrated version of WWZ yet as I've gone to the 3D theatrical every time I've spun it up at home. Might have to rectify that later.
