Good news. I clicked on the whole delete BD Data Utility, and that worked. So usually I just delete the particular BD Data folder for a particular title, and that does the trick. But this time I had to purge all the data there.

After hearing so much about this $19.99 deal, I was finally able to go to TRU and check it out for myself. I asked the employee to open the case, as they only had one copy left, and I asked him to ring it up for me to see how much it is, and he told me $19.99! No problemo! And it of course came with a movie ticket redemption for Monster's U for $10. That's a pretty damn good deal!

Played perfectly fine on my cheap region free player, so seems like a PS3 issue. Interested if others having the same problem.

I have the same problem I am trying to clear the BD Utility right now after months of not getting anywhere with Disney.
Wow look at that it worked. Thanks

Looks like the latest Sony firmware has fixed the audio drop-outs as this used to be unwatchable on my S790 unless I switched to 5.1 PCM.

Sat and watched it in 3D this afternoon with no problems what so ever. The 3D & sound on his movie is just so awesome.

I'm sure this has been covered before, so please excuse me for asking again. At about the 1:06 mark when Sully is being attacked by Randall and Mike returns the audio drops down a bit. Do I have a defective disc or is this a problem with the movie?
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?

Has there been any news about whether or not Disney is or will be issuing replacement discs to fix the audio?

So has anyone seen the re-packaged 3D release in stores? Does it include a slipcover?

Well I finally got around to Best Buy. They had the repackaged Monsters Inc 3D and Finding Nemo 3D (where they eliminated the digital copy disc in favor of the DMA code) but none of them had slipcovers. This website says the first pressing has them but it was always a shot in the dark. Oh well

Thumbs down

Jesus. Wtf is up with some of the threads on this forum? I have to imagine they've been heavily modified or merged with other threads or something. Whatever the case, its very confusing when you try to read some of these old threads - this one is a prime example.

First post - info on the initial pressings of the blu-ray release of Monster's Inc.

Second post, third post, etc - "This sux!" "Lame" "Screw Pixar"

As someone who likes to revisit old threads, its kind of confusing and hard to follow the timelines. Sorry for the bump, but its irritating.

Er...well...sorry to bump an old thread, but I wasn't sure where else to ask this question:

I received a Blu-ray player for Xmas, and upgrading my Pixar collection to Blu-ray has been an ongoing project ever since.

My question (and it's been noted elsewhere) is this: has the original "Monsters, Inc." teaser trailer ever been released on Bu-ray and/or in HD?

I'm guessing that if Pixar has indeed "retired" that teaser, it is because it overtly contradicts what we see in "Monsters University" (Sully, to Mike: "Remember the fifth grade? When you spent all of your time passing notes to Suzy Boyle?") but at the same time, Pixar has acknowledged a similar, although subtler, contradictary statement in the film itself.

Also--I'm still missing roughly eight Pixar Blu-rays. Are any of the other teaser trailers MIA on Blu-ray?

Is there any version of this movie in HD with the outtakes/company play at the end?

I just found this on the DMRs site. I guess we're getting a re-release soon.

It's kind of inconsistent as to whether or not PIXAR includes the teaser for a film with it's respective blu-ray release. (I was disappointed the teaser for Ratatouille wasn't on the blu-ray). Maybe, if & when they release PIXAR short films volume 3 they will include the teaser trailers for all there movies as a bonus feature, or at least that's my hope.

Good thing I held off, then. I have this on Japanese DVD and was considering getting the existing BD, but I can wait. I'm not too picky about the Pixar movies matching in series. I have 3 of the big heads and a few others in regular editions.

Same here, there's not a lot of consistency in my PIXAR collection either.
