Wow, that sends me back. Pretty sure I saw that with my dad in the theater. I really loved it when I first saw it.

It's a very good film.
"First, a brief preface. Every time I review a film by Jean-Luc Godard, I receive outraged letters from readers who hated it. It is suggested that my reviews and myself join Godard on the trash heap of history; that the customers wuz robbed. A common complaint is that Godard 'made no sense.' And so on." -- Roger Ebert (1966)

One of my most favorite movies ever. I've seen it over 25 times and am always discovering something new.

A very lyrical film that I found to be very haunting.

The Great Outdoors (I wasn't an 80's kid so I don't know if this was a big movie back then).
One of the funniest movies I've ever seen!

Sauna, a finnish, Medieval-ish (set in 1595) horror movie. It's like a mix between Black Death (theme) and Let The Right One In (style).
Definitely recommend it.

Default Living in Oblivion

Living in Oblivion is a hilarious, hidden gem starring Steve Buscemi and Peter Dinklage about everything that can go wrong behind the scenes of indie filmmaking.

Great, severely undervalued psycho-thriller with one of Jennifer Jason Leigh's best performances. Kino gave it a spiffy Blu last October, which is perfectly watchable, but if you want an even weirder experience, track down the extended UK cut (more of Leigh's relationship with her mother, played by Brenda Vaccaro, and a couple more minutes added to the wild climax).

Garden State (2003)
I bet this movie will elicit a tenderness smile on your face. You must watch this film for infinite kindness. Everyone will find here something familiar.
Magnolia (1999)
This movie is not for entertaining viewing. It’s an acid test for your soul.

The movie is at least as good as this poster is bad.

A great (and weird) icelandic drama/comedy, released in the year 2000, with a haunting soundtrack (partly from Sigur Rós - remember "The Rains Of Castamere" from "Game Of Thrones"?) based on a novel depicting true events (the protagonist is based on the brother of the author which makes everything so much sadder when you think of it).

Loved Time After Time. Saw it in the theatre when it was first released. Great score by Miklós Rózsa, the composer for such classic films as Ben-Hur (1959) and others too numerous to mention. I believe that this was one of his last films.

Can't recommend Duplex enough. Great for anyone who loves cringe comedy, which Ben Stiller is a master at.

My Blue Heaven is great if you just want a good laugh. With the comedy stylings of Steve Martin as Vinnie, and Rick Moranis playing a different Barney, this is a great watch. It has yet to be released on bluray. But I've watched this movie so much on-demand, it's only a matter of time.

May not have the most original plot but it's an easy film to watch with nice performances by the leads.

Thirteen Days (2000) with Kevin Costner and Bruce Greenwood.

The film is a compelling re-telling of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 when President John Kennedy (Greenwood) faced off against the Russians when they placed offensive missiles in Cuba. The film did not make a lot of money but I thought it was one of the best films of that year. I was 14 when this event occurred, and remember it well. It's a pretty accurate account of what happened. The script was largely created from taped recordings of the high level meetings between Kennedy and his advisers (including his brother Robert, Adlai Stevenson, the Joint Chiefs, and others from his cabinet and staff. It's high drama as the world came closer to nuclear conflict than any time in history, before or since.
