I'd like to think that, in a parallel universe somewhere in quantum physics land, there is another Great Owl out there who slapped down the plastic for that Caesar head DVD set of Planet of the Apes and did not get a speeding ticket on his way home. The end result on the wallet would have been the same, but one result would have been more fun than the other.

I own that Ape's head box set as well, and love it. Even though I have the Blu-Ray set as well, I couldn't part with the ape head. It looks too cool on my shelf. Plus it came with the complete TV show and cartoons on DVD as well.

Surprised no one has mentioned the complete series release of Columbo from Japan!

Runs around $450 to $600.

I'd love to get it but I guess I can wait a decade for Universal to put it out cheaper...

$149.99 for the Bond 50 collection. Not accounting for general inflation, will probably never spend that much on a single purchase in a long long time if ever.
Toshiba 40-inch 1080p TV; Sony BDP-S590, Panasonic DMP-BDT220 (back-up); Samsung HT-D330 (5.1 surround, DVD HT w/ region-free capability); Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 250gb w/ Kinect

Aw man - I was looking at that set before it went OOP as well. Even though I have the BD set, I still regret not picking the DVD up- It just looked awesome!

It was quite cheap as well! Think it was around 40 USD before it went OOP

I know a lot of people on here got the set when it was on sale during Black Friday for $99. For 22 films I'd say that was great deal.

I've seen Lost Complete Season selling for $400 or more on Amazon sellers. sheesh.

I got mine for $160 brand new from someone who bought it when it was still a little cheaper. Glad he sold it at a reasonable price (at least for me)
