Is this still only at Best Buy? I cannot find it at any stores here in Canada.

*EDIT* I should note, yes, there is Best Buy Canada but in my province there is no Best Buy at all. I'm stuck with the options of Future Shop, HMV and places like Wal-Mart.

Its a 4 disc set. It simply packages the old Panasonic disc with the previous 2009 2D edition

The 3D presentation is one of the best on the format. Gorgeous depth throughout and not a hint of ghosting (and Im someone who usually looks for that). Its easily a reference grade 3D disc

The movie itself is mediocre family fluff. Its entertaining enough for the little ones but if your hoping for an animated feature with any depth as we come to expect from Pixar look elsewhere

Compared to other 3D CG films, I found ice age a touch disappointing, it's sharp and colourful but there's next to no pop out and depth, whilst good, isn't excellent IMO. It's doesn't have the pop of say Open Season or the depth of say, Tangled, it's just not a stand out title in any area.

Don't get me wrong though, still a pristine transfer, but an ever so slightly underwhelming 3D effect compared to similar titles.

I agree. I absolutely love all of the characters in the Ice Age films and the movies are so much fun.

I just do not understand what's going on in the minds of producer / directors when it comes to 3D. WHY do they not take advantage of the extra dimension and incorporate pop out effects in their films?

Don't get me wrong, I am all for immersive depth, but how about poking stuff out from the screen?

C'mon! Poke my eyes out!

I have had this for 6 month got it free from Panasonic with Avatar, Gullivers travels and Animals United all 3D for free.

If there's a Costco in Canada, the movie is $25 (not sure of the price difference in Canada). That's where I bought Ice Age 3 and Rio. I think all their 3Ds are $25.

For Canadians still looking for this for a reasonable price, Future Shop is having a trade-in sale beginning today on a number of 3-D movies, including Ice Age 3. It's down to $29.99 (from $42, last I checked, since I've been keeping my eye on it for a while now), and you can get an additional $10 off that by trading in an old DVD. Today I picked up both Ice Age 3 and Rio for $19.99 a piece, along with Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs for $14.99. I already have a ton of Disney's 3-D releases, but I'd been wanting to add those to my ever-growing 3-D collection for a while, now; this was a great opportunity to do so.

Anyone know of a way to lower the 3D effect? We saw this movie last night and the 3D got us motion sickness whenever there was some sort of movement on the screen, this is the only movie with this problem

I picked this up over the weekend from Best Buy, $15.00.

I liked the movie, Sid is awesome, but was pretty disappointed with the minimal 3d. Like said before in this topic, lots of chances to really immerse the viewer into the world of Ice Age but alas, none taken.

My theory is since these movies tend to aim towards a younger crowd perhaps they do not take the depth and negative parallax as far as they can because it may hurt some eyes to focus on - not that I'm on the boat of 3D causes eye strain but like any other muscle it needs to be worked, and will tend to be sore to those who aren't obsessed with the format like many of us are. With youngsters still developing and a studio that plans to make most of their profits off of our little ones desire to see the movie in 3D, maybe they tamed it for that reason... Who knows.. I say pop it 5 feet out and sink it 20 feet back lol, let's get some depth!

Anywho - glad I only paid 15 for it, I feel okay with that purchase. Had I bought the 39.99 copy when it first dropped, I would be in here yapping up a storm. Cute movie though.

Strange. Every time I've watched this movie the 3D has been quite strong. Near to or on par with a lot of DreamWorks titles. Maybe not as many in your face pop outs, but there are pop outs. The depth is strong and looks great. Same with Rio. Way stronger than like say Cloudy With A chance Of Meatballs Or Monster House. I've used this movie to show off the 3D on my TV on more than one occasion. It's been one of my favorites for the 3D for a long time.
