Just downmixing properly, and in some 5.1->7.1 setups it will clone the side speakers into the surround backs instead of keeping them silent.
You're right, for Oz on the PC it's HD, on the PS3 it's HDX. |

Yes, as noted below you go to Vudu and select "Redeem Ultraviolet Copy" on the "Disc To Digital" tab and input your Disney Movie Rewards code after you do the search for Oz The Great and Powerful.

Put what on the Blu-ray?
Dolby TrueHD actually as a "9.1" option on their 7.1 encoding tools: it will encode 2 extra channels to be swapped out with the side channels for an optimized experience for either 5.1 or 7.1 setups. Brave uses this: the package lists both a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and 5.1 options but there is only one audio track. Contrast to Toy Story 3 which has 2 separate 7.1 & 5.1 DTS-MA tracks (defaults to 5.1). |

Good. Then maybe this will be their first and last release with a separate 3D only version. |

Why not?
The code is good for an HDX version. Which means you can play it in either HDX, HD, or SD...depending on the device. PCs are authorized to show the SD & HD streams. The PS3 all formats. It's only been recently they've allowed HD or HDX streams on PCs (probably piracy concerns). A lot of HDX titles I have, like Earthquake, are SD on the PC only. I have to use my PS3 if I want to stream the HDX version for that title. Disney is allowing the HD & SD streams on the PC for Oz. |

Got my pre-order in finally yesterday from Amazon... I love the option for the digital copy to go to Amazon Instand Video! the first i've seen of digital copies... i hope they continue this trend. It works so flawlessly with my Kindle Fire HD.
For all the digital copy nay-sayers who think there should be more options - come on, seriously? They give you PLENTY of options. The bluray/DVD/digital copy gives you tons of options. the bluray, the dvd, the digital copy, or rip the DVD into another format of your liking - simple! Disney offering the Oz 3D disc only was a bad decision by them though, if they would have had a 3d/2d/dvd combo, i would have bought that even for an extra 10 bucks. I always try to get the Bluray/DVD combos over anything with Bluray/Digital copy only. Because if i have the DVD, I can rip it into any format I want for digital devices etc. The software I use I can even rip any bluray into any format I want as well. I'll never complain about the options we're getting with blurays, as long as I can still get my hands on the physical bluray disc i'll be happy.
