Default Sekai no chshin de, ai o sakebu (aka Crying Out Love, in the Centre of the World)

I thought I'd create a thread about this amazing Japanese Romantic drama: 'Crying Out Love, in the Centre of the World', it's my Japanese no1 romantic drama just like 'A Moment to Remember' is my all time favourite Korean flick ever, so please share your thoughts on this.

Just for your info I've not created this thread to try and compare these two amazing films but more to explore this film and share our experiences as 'A Moment to Remember' for me wins hands down however like I already said this to me is my all time favourite Japanese romantic drama. It's so popular to the point that Korea remade their version of it (My Girl & I).

- BTW, is this out on Blu-ray already or does anyone know when it'll be released if it's not?

typical story premise for japan/korea

doesn't have anything on 'Tokyo Love Story' though (tv drama) from 1991 still revered/loved today

also based on a Manga

I found it touching, and not boring at all. In fact, I enjoyed "Crying Out Love" more than "A Moment To Remember," which I thought was okay but went over the top in the last half hour.

I ended up buying the silly Japanese LE with the photo frame and cassette tape when it was on sale from cdjapan the Chinese and English subs on the screen at the same time on the HK DVD was truly annoying.

In fact, the Movie version is a little bit faster paced than the TV series. I like the movie version more because of the actress. Ending song of the TV series is very touching, but I forget whether this song is in the movie. I have HK edition and Korean LE (the one including the novel in Korean) of the movie. I also have the HK LE of My girls and I (like a photo album). Unfortunately, it was rotten before I could watch it.

Seriously man you need to give it another shot if you get a chance, like I said Japanese movies tend to be slow-paced compared to Korean films.

@ PGW & jegiwong: got all LEs you guys mentioned, JP (the coolest)/HK & KR, also own the Korean & HK book LEs of "My Girl & I", I'm a bit crazy about Asian LEs

Not sure it's out on Bluray but can't wait to watch it again soon.

There was a Thai DVD that was going for about $8 on eThaiCD. Contemplated it, but passed. Very interested in seeing it though.

I know what a shame it's a solid flick that desperately needs to be released on blu-ray

Let's hope soon enough now after all patience is a virtue
