Odds are pretty good. It's a Universal title and the currently in-print H.R. Pufnstuf: The Complete Series set is currently being distributed by Shout's distributor, Cinedigm.

The plan was to make one or more "films" for the UK so it was filmed with that in mind - which is why for the DVD release of Dark Shadows it was released 1.85:1. When I reviewed it upon release I thought the same as you. I spoke to my contact at MGM and he filled me in.
The same was true for the original "V" mini-series when that was released on DVD. Kenneth Johnson, the writer/director explained told me.
Primary intended AR was 4:3 even if shot 16:9 safe. As I said, the 16:9 cropping on the DVDs wasn't ruinous even if a little tight in places. For example, I can well believe the pilot was shot cinema safe but as I said, the primary composition would have been for US TV broadcast. Fact also is, the finished cut episodes as presented on DVD are the TV versions, not a possible cinema cut. The generic series opening credits cannot be cropped to 16:9. The exception to this is the pilot, which has credits that do appear more film-like and naturally 16:9 safe. I'd like any Blu-ray to use OAR, 16:9 extractions would be ideal for TV sales and Netflix streaming but as a huge fan of the DS revival series (who fell in love with it in 16:9), I'd want 4:3 on my BD. If they can stretch to offering both, then great.

That said, I'd have to be instinctively wary of the details coming from those involved in preparing the Dark Shadows DVDs given they ignored something as simple as several day for night filters that were intended to be applied in post (and was applied for the original broadcast masters) but missed off when they rescanned the film material and prepared the current masters. The DVD producers also had the VHS material such as extended cuts offered to them, and they didn't use them.

Speaking of Dark Shadows, I am kind of surprised that the Burton flick didn't get the original series back on TV. Hulu streams it, but only a bit. Chiller ran the revival series for a while.

Default Sonny Boy (1987)

Just pre-ordered mine and am anticipating its arrival on 1/26.

Everything I've read about this hard to find cult film indicates that it's phenomenal. Michael Weldon, writer of the Psychotronic Video Guide, raves about the film and it was never subsequently released on DVD, making which it hard for the contemporary viewer to watch a legitimate copy of the film.

It stars David Carradine in drag and Brad Dourif.

Anyone else excited????

If it's anything, Decades TV ran a weekend marathon a little bit ago.
