I hope so as well!

Except that the past few Fast & Furious movies were all set in foreign lands, and they seemed to do alright.

It's more likely that people stayed away because the film — and word of mouth — just wasn't that good.

This isn't the unpopular opinion thread.

4.75/5 from me, rounded up for the poll, sadly I imagine this movie was probably much better than "X-4" will be.

I have to say watching this again (now in the extended edition) I like it a lot more. Originally I gave it two stars on the poll (c+/b-) I would now raise that score to a 4 star vote and a B+ rating . It really held up well for me. The end still should have been better but the extended cut gives us at least 3 very well done extended action scenes.

Thumbs up

I just watched this several hours ago. It's very good. ^,..,^ I must say, I wasn't dissatisfied. I can see how some got turned off by the final fights. Personally, I think it got a little to loud in the chaotic sense. As well as the slightly surreal predicament that Wolverine ended up in. It didn't really seem like an X-Men movie either yet it did simultaneously. The Viper character was treading on being a cliché villainous. Almost too close. Also, Famke Janssen seemed to be channeling her performance as the Phoenix more so than Jean Grey. I know it wasn't "really" Jean Grey, but still would've been better if she had come off as Jean Grey of X2. Or even how she first appears to Scott Summers at the Lake. Since it was in Logan's mind.

Other than that, I really liked it. I'll definitely try to pick it up between now and May. The mid-credits scene still gives me goosebumps everytime I've seen it. X-Men: Days of Futures Past can't get here sooner. I have a feeling it'll be one the best movies next year.

Having wrapped work on "X-Men: Days of Future Past," actor Hugh Jackman is now a free man - no longer committed to any other future films in the "X-Men" franchise.

Despite this, 20th Century Fox is pushing ahead with both a sequel to James Mangold's "The Wolverine" from this past Summer, and the just announced "X-Men: Apocalypse". So, could Jackman be lured back to play Logan again for what would technically be 'Wolverine 3'? The actor tells Vanity Fair he's unsure:

I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of (The Wolverine) and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with, but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.

Nevertheless he's keeping himself in the loop, saying he and Mangold have been in touch with ideas for the project. However, there is no script and no writer yet so it is a while off.

Oh, also just checked out the Unleashed Extended Cut. So awesome. I really liked the film in theaters, but loved it even more watching it the other day! Really can't wait for the sequel.

I wonder how Dougray Scott would have been like portraying Wolverine if they had kept up with him playing Logan before he got hurt? Since Hugh Jackman's played Wolverine so well, and looks so much like the part, I hope he sees continued value of the character and will be humble enough to do whatever he can before he ultimately says "No more..."
