They shot theirselves in the foot by making it an exclusive.

This is kind of a hard list to manage, since there's so many differing opinions. For example, I think Tron: Legacy and Coraline are two of the best, but I know plenty who disagree.
I'm not so good at dividing these up into levels, so I'll just share my Top 10 off the top of my head(based on how good the movie is and how good the 3D is and how well the 3D serves the story, averaged)

1. Hugo
2. Avatar
3. IMAX Hubble
4. Tron: Legacy
5. Coraline
6. Tangled
7. How to Train Your Dragon
8. IMAX Under the Sea
9. Prometheus
10. A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas
(I'll probably add Life of Pi, Dredd and Pina once those are out.)

Note: haven't rewatched Brave, Up or even seen Finding Nemo so I'll have to update this list later

is the 3D in Tangled that strong? Enjoyed the film but not seen the 3D version as yet, and as it's still expensive to buy i've not thought about getting it before.

i've just ordered Sammy based purely on this boards recommendation, so hopefully it is good.

In regards to Sammy....Just don't be expecting much in the story. It's a cutzie type kiddie story that's enjoyable if you're into that type of thing. If you have kids, jackpot! I own it just for the 3D. The music is good in most people's opinion, though its not my style of music. Nevertheless, you may enjoy the story and music and most definitely the 3D.

As for Tangled, yes the 3D is done very well.

These rankings are pure BS. Hardly anything in this list is accurate.

Where would you rank Monsters vs. Aliens?

I know you weren't addressing this to me, but actually it's pretty darn good. Not in MY top 5 animated titles but its in the top tier. And you?

This sums it up for me as well. I think Megamind and How To Train Your Dragon is better than Monsters vs Aliens,IMO.
