I was too, but I opted out. Honestly the only movie in this collection I would really watch over and over again is North by Northwest. I'm more a Cary Grant fan than a Hitchcock fan I think.

Silly statement. A) I said more of a fan, not "I don't like Hitchcock." B) People have different tastes, you shouldn't assign your preferences to others.

I've watched the vast majority of Hitchcock's filmography and liked most of them, but few of them are movies I would watch over and over again, hence I don't feel a real need to own them. I mostly only buy sci-fi movies and 70's/80's action films. I would watch North By Northwest over and over again, however, so that's the one I would want to own. I just have a thing for Cary Grant, and could watch his stuff all the time.

Pretty simple.

Hitchcock set is essential viewing for anybody with even a passing interest in film. Love that set and it introduced me to about 6 films of his I hadn't already seen.

My Hitchcock collection is at 22 and counting.
The Ghostbusters earned their Stripes and to relax decided to go play golf, but got locked in the Caddyshack by the Gopher with The Blues Brothers who are hiding from a Dragnet but luckily they all escaped to The Great Outdoors, where they met a ranger who turned out to be The Man Who Knew Too Little because everything he said was Lost In Translation.

Nothing is essential viewing for anyone, don't be an elitist. Also I have seen all these movies, and enjoyed most of them. You don't have to own a movie to like it.

You guys are silly.

Same here. This is one of those times where I am tempted to rebuy it just for the sake of taking advantaging of such an awesome awful. However, I already got mine for a cracking deal over a year ago.

At that price, you lot would be nuts to not take it. You need this, trust me.

I see the UK set has the disc in sleeves. Are they easy to get out, without getting fingerprints on the bottom side?

I think I picked it up when it was $100-ish on Amazon. Maybe a 'Deal of the Day' or something? Way more than what this set is currently going for on Amazon UK. If this was a new release, I'd bet people would be going crazy over this like they did over TCM's Halloween pricing error. I wonder if they're trying to clear these out.

yes, this is a great deal (i already own the US set), but for any "purist" out there, it doesn't include the original audio in Vertigo.

If you're careful, yes. It's a nice package and at this price simply should not be passed up.
