A little quick look, I think it's about 1-2 inches off diagonally in this shot but it's close enough to get a feel how it would look.
I'm not sure if I'm going to mount it that high however. ![]() Ceiling height

You will definitely want to keep some distance between your screen and the ceiling, you'll get less light bouncing straight back to the screen. It may also be a little distracting, it would for me. I'd go at least a foot between the two, six inches minimum.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, you know with a short throw projector how far close to the screen can you walk in front before the projector image shows on the person walking in front of the screen?

That depends on the projectors offset and the distance that it is from the screen...Honestly you'd have to have it hung in order to see the results...

I have a question, I'm going to be getting a Optoma GT750E the other projector I've worked with is a Sanyo PLV-70 and it has lens shift and zoom and all that.
I just thought about something, so if I leave a 6 inch gap from the ceiling but I have a ceiling mount that say mounts the PJ 4 inches from the ceiling wont I have some issues with distortion? At least with this model 5' gives me 80 inches 8' I think is like 170 or something like that but I'm not going to do that big. Looks like I'm going to have to switch the room around as much as I hate to do that but at least I wont have a door and light switch in the way, this is going to force me to get this acer monitor fixed so I can move this 40" screen out of the way The max I could do is about 110" but at it's height (54") the bed would cut it off so I'm going to try and shoot for 100"

I painted my walls flat black, and found that the contrast is greatly improved.

Ok it's getting near time for the projector week after next I need the PJ to get an idea of the screen size and what is and not going to work.. I was wondering if I should bother painting my ceiling or don't bother.. for the screen I will be building I will have a black border on it.

It does help with the reflection of light off of the screen. If you do not want to to paint the ceiling as dark as your walls, you could use a flat lighter paint for the ceiling.

Well my current ceiling color is a eggshell white kinda matte looking in color, a matte grey would work just as well right? if I do paint the ceiling I would most likely end up putting a LED strip light around the whole room a 16 Ft strip, Might look cool, I kinda have an idea how it might look
