The Brian Bosworth action movie? Yeah that needs a blu ray release badly. One of my favorite 90s movies. I didn't know there was a NC 17 cut. How much of more footage is there?

I was wondering if SPACECAMP (1986) is a film that Shout Factory could release (seeing their catalogue of films).
I lOVE that film and I think it's underrated!
Classic kids sci-fi with a superb John Williams score!
It also could be a Twilight Time release, but just now I thought of Shout Factory too..

i see there is a member here which is a Shout Factory insider.
May I ask please if something like that would be a possibility?

Not a clue but there are several sites showing it as a pre-order but none of them have any info.

Maybe it is just a cover name of something really cool we all want and they are waiting till the last second to reveal it!

I got an email today from Amazon advertising the first three seasons of the Newhart TV series (1982-1990) on DVD. I looked at the releasing company and was surprised to see it was Shout! Factory. I know the first season of the series was shot on video, but all subsequent seasons were shot on film since Bob Newhart disliked the look of video and insisted on film.

I love this series, and I hope Shout! decides to release it on BD, but if that was in the cards it seems they would just release a BD-DVD combo and be done with it, especially given there are nine seasons. Anyone more familiar with their output have any thoughts on the chances of this going to blu-ray?

I don't think they've released any vintage (1990's or earlier) TV series on Blu-Ray to date.

Now that the Scream Factory lineup has been announced for the Summer, here's hoping we can get some news on upcoming Shout Factory Blu-ray releases, such as more titles from the ITV licensing deal and the Herzog licensing deal.

While, it'd be cool, I doubt Shout will be putting the show out on BD in the future. I just hope sales sustain so that the remainder of the run can be released. Very bummed that Webster, Diff'rent Strokes and Fantasy Island never made it to the finish line

Default Why Mystery Science Theater 3000 should be on Blu-Ray?

  1. An average BRD can fit 9 hrs of HD footage. While MST3K won't look or sound glorious in HD, *using the movie as a reference*, the mere fact than a BRD can hold more than twice what a DVD can is a massive improvement.
  2. There are 197 episodes of the series, but for the sake of math, let's say there's 198. 198 episodes / 9 hrs per disc = 22 discs to hold the whole series. 22 discs / 4 discs per case = 6 (rounded up from 5.5) discs per case
  3. In short, Shout! Factory should stop making DVD's and make Blu-Rays to save space and money.

I know this is a BD website, but I didn't know where else to ask...Does anyone have any insight as to why production of newer releases of the 90's Nickelodeon shows has pretty much halted? I haven't seen a new set release since late Jan. early Feb...
