Sure hell bring in an audience to WHD but not a huge one. Only die hard Channing fans
You're underestimating the female audience. He's got a big draw there. I'll also go as far as to say he's got a bigger audience than he did before thanks to '21 Jump Street' last year. There's enough pull for them to get, at the least, $30 million. It's summer blockbuster season, these are the kinds of movies people like this time of year.

I think women would rather see a movie targeted for them before they see White House Down

Tatum is their target. Again, you're underestimating his draw. But we're going in circles now, so I'm just going to step away now. We'll just have to wait and see.

If I walk into White house down on Friday night I'll see 25% of women

If I walk into the heat I'll see 75% of women

actually WWZ was 49% woman and 51% men this past weekend.. Brad Pitt has a huge female following. Teens will see White House Down, its a movie made specifically for them.. even though I don't think it wins the weekend or even finishes in the top 3 I think it will finish fourth pushing pretty close to the 3rd spot

Most Teens watch films opening week. WWZ will be dropping next week rather fast.

Yeah, but that 75% of women in The Heat will be less tickets of the 25% of women who see White House down...

Monster Inc - $55 Million
White House Down - $42 Million
World War Z - $24 Million (-60% minimum)
The Heat - $20 Million (And I'm being generous)
Man of Steel - $18 Million

I am as happy as a pig in excrement that MOS plummeted 65% . Easily one of the worst films I have ever had the displeasure to view.
SUper surprised that World War Z made that much. I thought every trailer I saw made the film look awful but its been getting pretty decent feedback so might have to check it out when it hits second run theaters I say WWZ also plummets this weekend at least 65 to 70% though. I thought it would make only slightly more than $66 million overall domestically so the fact that it pulled them numbers in in just a few days was shocking to me.

no way those movies will be that lopsided gender wise

even The Help was only like 70% female and bridesmaids even less

.
It's still making good money and will get a sequel and will get close if not over $300 million domestically. So please.

I love that SUperman Returns has a much higher critical score and considering inflation, and 3D surcharges Superman Returns probably sold more tickets when all is said and done.
Very probable that MOS will be more successful overseas.
Hope it continues to drop like a stone this weekend with another 60 to 70% drop which I predict it certainly will.

Awesome openings for MU and WWZ and a awful drop for MoS. It shows how the word of mouth is pretty much non-existent among the general movie going audience and that only the cbm crowd drove it to the high first weekend box-office.

I don't think you can say it's an awful drop when 2 pretty hugely anticipated movies open against it in just its 2nd wk-end out

Of Course it was going to drop quite a bit then.

Of course you can, if WOM was as good as people say then it would retain a larger audience. A 65% drop is very steep, Green Lantern had a 65% drop. MoS was expected to keep WWZ at bay, that didn't happen.
