Yeah! I posted that picture here a few months ago. I created that and Severin has posted it a few times. A few really exciting movies coming.

Also, in the latest Shock Waves podcast, they celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Severin. They mentioned that they just acquired Cathy's Curse!!!

I added the upcoming titles to the list, and sorted out the images. The master post is back up and running efficiently!

Also, as we get more news, I'll weed out the non-Blu-ray releases (providing any of the titles listed in the catalog are DVD-only).

Thanks! I love having this info at the head of these distributor threads - it comes in handy when I'm planning my purchases The cover art images are a great visual aid as well. I was thinking why not use the theatrical poster art as placeholders for the titles that Severin hasn't officially announced yet - would this be possible?

The review is for the UK release, but Severin's U.S. release should be identical

I received an apologetic email from Severin today about my order that has been delayed. Apparently Count Dracula is out of stock and it's going to take a few more days to get copies from the warehouse. Jason told me that they had about a thousand orders during the sale and hundreds and hundreds of Doctor Butcher M.D. preorders to deal with it. It's nice that I got sent an email without having to send one to them first and nice to see that the sale drove in all that business.

My order finally shipped after receiving two emails explaining that some stock was already gone, it's only one guy working on packing and shipping, and that once stock had arrived my order will be shipped. Really like the emails though explaining the situation.

Severin offering Italian and English audio but no subs is a ****ing joke. I know that this should be seen in English, but I'm curious for the Italian audio. I have the German disc and obviously it doesn't have English subs. I was hoping that the Severin edition would have English subs.

Boy was I wrong.

Any label that does that is a waste of time

For the records, Severin Films' Zombie Holocaust cut as well as Zombie Holocaust footage used for the Doctor Butcher M.D. cut appears to be sourced from the same Telecine transfer done at Eurolab, Rome 88 Films used for their release last year. So, both 88 Films and Severin Films used the same transfer to create their own master but each company restored the movie differently. I prefer Severin Films' rendition, the colors are more natural, there is no orange cast like 88 Films' color correction, the gamma is more accurate and the image appears to be less soft especially on the first screenshot. Both releases are framed differently. Tracking says it's gonna be delivered to me tomorrow!

Really wish I didn't miss out on the sale :-(

I hope they go for round 2 with their Black Friday 60% off sale this year so I can fill some holes in my Severin collection.

Finally received my Doctor Butcher M.D. Blu-ray today. It was shipped by Severin Films on July 18th then got stuck at the Canadian customs here in Montreal from July 24th to August 9th. I had to call and make some pressure in order to know what was going on with my exploitation flick.

I guess they sort of scanned it and saw that some sort of bag had been inserted inside the case so they opened it and kept it until I called and asked for the parcel to be located.

So, the moral of this story is, barf bags are not customs friendly when inserted inside a Blu-ray case.

Ha!

I have Dr. Butcher MD in transit; if I'm lucky, it'll show up on Friday or Saturday.

I'm hoping Burial Ground or Beyond the Darkness is next. Depending on the extra goodies, I'll pre-order direct for those two films.

Announcement for Franco Prosperi's WILD BEASTS (1984), an all-time favorite, coming soon :

Quote:
The last of many WILD BEASTS interviews is in the can: star Toni De Leo aka John Aldrich. Full details coming very soon on this completely insane zoo animals on PCP classic from Godfather of Mondo, Franco E. Prosperi.

Also, expect Andrea Bianchi's BURIAL GROUND (1981) to hit at the same time.

Isn't this another of those movies where real animals are killed onscreen for 'entertainment'?

Not really, but there is a scene of some rats getting blow-torched that's likely to incite all the rodent activists out there.
