Bought this on release day and finally got around to watching it. Had a back log of unwatched blus.

The wife and I loved it. Intense throughout. This and Django are the two best movies I've seen in quite some time.

I finally caught this the other day and it was great all around except when it was the kids turn to do the acting

yeah to me it was a bleak ending with the son probably going to go down the same path as the father at some point

I thought Dane DeHaan (Gosling's kid) was good, as DeHaan has typically been in the movies in which I have seen him appear. The actor who played Cooper's kid was decidedly much worse, though maybe my aversion to his character is playing into that as well.

if anyone in the UK has been tracking the price on our edition (can't see it in the database here) you might want to know that you can get it instore at sainsburys for 8 at the moment - 10 on their online store, 10 at amazon UK too. seems to be cheapest i can spot.

Finally got around to watching this one. Loved the pacing of the movie. No dull moments. Every scene was significant and important. I rarely see that in a film.

Granted four months after you, but I just got around to watching this as well. Funny enough, the pacing and amount of intense scenes are what the people that pick on this film complain about. I can definitely see where they're coming from, but I still love it. It's pretty much two or three movies split into one and it takes a while to transition from each. The first 40 or so minutes were spectacular, and to me, it kind of hit a lull for a bit after that but picked up and brought me back in. Really great movie though overall. <3 Gosling, just wish there was more of him in this. Would have made it even better than it already is.

I watched this recently. I picked it up at a used video game store for $8. I kept waiting for the price to drop brand new but hadn't seen it go below $18 anywhere.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It was one of those movies that I thought about after I watched it for a few days. I was very pleased with it.
